Default Irene, I spotted a White Buffoon last night in the episode when

Cliff's white friend "Geoffery" was wearing the hairpiece on his head to impress on one Clair's Friend but got tired of being someone and just snatched the piece off of his head and left the house-lol Geoffery was defintely a White Buffoon which was surprising because until that episode last night I wouldn;t have been able to think of any white guest stars looking foolish-lol Would you consider Cockroach a Black Buffoon?

Funny you mentioned him. That particular actor is always playing a buffoon. I can't swear 100 percent, but in the things that I have seen him in, he does. I think his somewhat funny look and his lisp are the reason. He is more of a character actor than an "actor". Usually a character actor plays a wide range of characters...you always recognize them but you never know their name. This guy tends to stick with "buffoon" type of characters. Besides, with the exception of Martin and Theo and sometimes Cliff, the men of Cosby were all buffoons one way or another.

He was so insecure-lol The lady had LOOKED past his unattractiveness and was intrigued by his writing and this clown goes home-lol

Kudos to the lady. That is an example of someone who looked passed the person's looks and saw them FROM THE INSIDE.

Well I don't think that he was made out to look like a Buffoon, he was always the nerdy little guy, or a loud mouth. The only time where he was made out to look silly was when he wore the toupee. Any other time he was pretty normal.

Also I don't think the men on the show were made out to look like Buffoon either IMO.

Yeah, nerdy. That's the word. Those are the types of characters he was almost always playing.

I just took a sarcastic (funny) jab at the men on Cosby show. They were not buffoons, but, well, you know what I mean. I won't go there!

BOOKMAN WAS A BUFFOON!!!!!!!

I think that if you look at just about every sitcom where there are married people the men were made out to look a little whipped, or they would do something stupid or say stupid things. I think it's just life, I would rather see a strong minded, take charge woman on TV then a weak, beaten down one any day of the week.

Solomon, when I first seen this thread, I thought it said WHITE BUFFALO I was like, "WTF?"

True Brie, very true. I like strong women myself. I just hate when there can't be two strong people you know. Take in charge type of couple, it's almost either or. But women have been put down so much in television...it is NOW OUR TURN TO BE IN CHARGE!!!!
