Dead Man Eating............. (Last Meals of Death Row Inmates)
I don't know what my problem is, but I found that very interesting. I like reading the final words more than anything. It really seems like the Death Penalty is doing its job. In most of the last words the person sounds like they learned there lesson, may be the hard way, but it might be the only way.

Not only that but the taxpayers are on the hook for massive $$ when they just lock the killers up.
I was a kid when Canada's worst child killer was on the rampage in my neck of the woods. The panic of schools and parents was incredible until they eventually caught Clifford Olsen. 10 years after his arrest I learned in University that Canadian taxpayers were paying $350,000 per year to keep him (no death penalty in Canada). Olsen's crimes against young children were so despicable that corrections knew if he were ever put in general population he would be killed within minutes. SO... Canadian taxpayers pay for him to have his own solitary cell, personal guard who takes him out on the grounds for one hour a day, any education to "rehabilitate" him and the luxuries of cable tv, books ,etc.. as to not violate HIS constitutional right to be free from "creul and unusual punishment". I believe it has beed about 25 years now so of the top of my head thats over 8 million $ to keep one murderer in jail. Not sure what the costs compare like in US prisons but with 10 times Canada's population and more than likely 10 times the murders how many millions a year are being spent to protect THEIR rights? |

statistically speaking it is MORE EXPENSIVE to execute
because since it is the highest price they can pay the appeals process is much more expensive and in the end its cheaper to keep them locked up than to execute |

That's the problem we spend way too much $ defending the rights of the ones who don't deserve it. If it is a 100% slam dunk i.e. the person confesses, video evidence etc.. then screw the appeals just flick the switch and be done with it. |

Why does $$$$ even come into play regarding this issue? I could care less what a death row inmate has as his/her last meal. They are going to be obliterated and not part of this world anymore. They committed a murder(s) and they must pay the price. What chance did murdered victims get? What appeal did they file pleading for their lives?

What about the rights of the victims? Where were all these bleeding-heart liberals when these monsters were torturing and killing their victims?I say just shoot these creeps in the head. I have no sympathy for them. |

well the thing is that we are seeing MORE AND MORE, of these SLAM DUNK CASES with confessions turn out to be FALSE CONFESSIONS and dna evidence clears them after 10 or 15 years in prison
cops who get false confessions and wrongful convictions are not just for tv shows, they happen all the time--- if we RUSH these executions then think of all the lost lives of more innocent people we would have the system aint perfect but its the best we have |

The sad thing is that the criminals have more rights than the victims.
