Ever collected a mlb teams season

Just curious if anyone has ever tried to or was able to collect a whole 162 game season of a team. Im assuming it could be done with all the sports channels. havin to trade for the games your area wont show of your team,like espn or the local.

a few years ago, it would have been easy

im a braves fan, and i had tbs and the 120 plus game sthey had

plus i had sports south

so between the two, i believe they covered every game

unless its a unreal season, it wouldnt be worth the effort

maybe the bonds 73 homer year

or the yanks winning 116

or some things like that could have made it fun

You just don't see any complete team seasons on collector's lists for baseball - just too many games - you would have to be a die hard.


There are tons of team collector's in football however, be it college or pro + it's easier to go back and get past seasons of your favorite team. Myself, I am working on completing my favorite team's games from the mid 80's right up to present time.
I also have several games between 1970-1985 but I know I will never get complete seasons from these - as they simply weren't preserved

The other part of my football collection focuses on playoff games. I am still filling in some holes but I will have every NFL playoff game between 1978 to present, with the odd playoff game here and there between 1970-76.

i saw the 30 minute show for the packers a couple weeks ago

they run every play in 30 minutes

and they give you every game on the entire schedule like that

so in 7 hours average

one could see every play in a entire weeks schedule

that would be great

4 discs at normal speed for every play in a teams entire season

I've done the first 6 weeks already.

There is a short for every game except the Sunday Night, Monday Night and Thursday Night games so it's usually between 11 to 14 games a week
Basically they don't do a short for the Nationally Televised games.

so far no demand for them trade wise but I plan to do the project until the end. If they discontinue it next year, it might have some value.

Wow, if you ever get all the Giants playoff wins from the Super Bowl winning 1986 and 1990 seasons, I'd definitely be interested in those.

this brought back some crappy memories

back in the old days

not only could we never see a home game on tv

even though green bay has sold out every game since 1959

but say we played the la rams or the sf 49ers in a 3pm central time game

well we would get a noon central time game

and as soon as that was done, we would get to see the packers

some times it was into the second quarter

before the first game was done

and then there were 6 minutes of commercials

and then the old

WE NOW JOIN THIS GAME IN PROGRESS

boy howdy how times changed

its just darn lucky that the only station we had until i was 17

was a cbs station, which carried the packers

yes i said the only station we had



i lived in the minnesota black out area as well

so when the packers went to minneapolis back then

it was also blacked out

As I said in a previous post with the Giant home games not televised I was stuck listening to Marty Glickman doing the radio. He retired and the voice of the football Giants was Jim Gordon, one of the purest voices I ever heard. When they started televising home games I refused to listen to the Tv voices and turned on the radio and viewed the game that way. Strange when the commercials went on but I did this for about 20 years. Glickman by the way is credited with coining the phrase "from the top of the key" and a Knick annnouncer Bud Palmer is credited with taking the first jump shot in the NBA.

Other great voices that I enjoyed in sports belonged to Russ Hodges, Red Barber, Vince Scully, Les Keiter, Spencer Ross, Marv Albert and Harry Carey of the Cubs.

i did the same thing for years with packers games, i listened to ray scott on the radio and watched the video

this worked out very nicely, until i got satellite tv

theres about a 5 second delay on it

the first game i watched on satellite was a badgers football game, i sat down all excited to have such a clear pictures

i turned the sound off and fired up the stereo, and the radio was ahead of the tv by like 5-6 seconds

well its back to nasty announcers again onj the tv
