Post Do you realize....?

That an individual can post a topic on the board and if someone else takes offense to it, they get all upset and begin to write nasty comments on the boards abou the person that started the topic. It amazes me that these people don't know each other face 2 face but they can carry stupid, unessecary fueds on the boards. Why is that? It happens on the Facts Of Life Board, The Division Baord and Tainia's Board as well.

When MARKCOOPER posted the topic "Nancy Mckeon Can't Act", it seemed as though heads started flying. Why can't we just enjoy the board? But I would like to know some your opinions, why do think people bring a whole bunch of junk to the board?

I think sometimes it is because some people are having trouble in their life so they take it out on these boards. I think it is quite unnessesary because these boards should be and escape, not a punching bag.

Do you realize that by posting this topic, you may have made yourself enemies? A lot of people are going to target you now. Just to tell you.

Cool

I think the fight boards are just dumb. I avoid them. Life's too short to spend fighting, IMHO.

I realized that also. I am not out to get any enemies, but this is getting crazy. I will let them if they have an issue, e-mail me. That's all. I really never argue with anyone on this board. I'll just pray for em'. BTW, if you want to try and win a complimentary Facts of Life Tape, I will have my contest on "The Facts of Life" Message Board. If this is successful, I will do other shows as well. Check out my topic "The moment you have all been waiting for" on the Facts of Life message board if interested.

Allow me to quote Rodney: "Can't we all just get along?"

Trust me, I don't want enemies, but no need for hostility.

Excuse me if I have offended anyone.

I'm with you ThomasE. I mean, defending something or someone you believe in is one thing, but attacking people is another. And this comes from a girl who did it once herself. It was a waste of time.

I think maybe people are able to fight so much because of the anomnity (sp?) of the Internet. No one knows who you are and you don't have to deal with the person every day, so I think it could make it easier to say things you could regret. That's just my opinion.

Well I get what you are saying and it is true, but that seems pretty cowardly to do it that way but it happens. It's a shame that something that is being used to promote pleasure and positivity can be turned into negativity. I have tried to keep quiet about this, but something had to be said.

The stupidity of the fighting and the obsession some people have with certain people worries me more then anything else. You're setting yourself up for a fall if you center everything in your life around one thing or person. I've seen it happen before and I bet I'll see it again.
On a side note, I love to argue. Put me in a room with a Republican and the remarks will fly, but the difference is the remarks will be backed up by sound reasoning and I would not attack the person. I know several Republicans who I may argue for hours/days with them over their political beliefs but I would never attack them personally. Someone like MARKCOOPER should be able to post something and start a discussion about the merits of someone's acting ability without being jumped all over because he/she doesn't share the popular opinion of the board. I've stopped frequenting other boards on a regular basis because I was sick of the hero worship. Give me a good debate anyday!!

Cool

I like my roommate's philosophy on words on the internet...and fights...

"Why do you have to get so upset? The whole damn thing is only text on a screen. It's not like it will change your life or anything by someone making a comment. So what if they don't like you or your opinions? Ignore them. Fight if you want, it's your waste of time."

I'd like to conclude that you can never change anyone's mind or make them see it your way. There is no "if you could walk a mile in my shoes" because if you all walked a mile in MY shoes (as an example) you would have blisters and probably smelly feet, but you still wouldn't see things my way. (Though maybe your feet would.)

God bless America...land that gives you the freedom to argue and fight and post on message boards about whatever you want! (Under supervision of course)

**Gracie**
A mile in my shoes would wear you out, a mile in my body would piss you off, and a mile in my brain would turn you freakin PSY-CHO!
