Default Shirley NOT marrying Carmine...

This was sooooo disappointing when Shirley did NOT marry Carmine. They belonged together. I realize Cindy was leaving the show and they couldn't get rid of the Carmine character, but still. This show should have ended sooner and have had those two marry, maybe not as a finale episode, but at least in the last season.

Carmine was a sap for following Shirley out to California in the first place...

It seems all of Milwaukee went to Cali... Only in television.

Those Cali episodes should not have even happened. It should have ended with them in Milwaukee.

The first California season wasn't bad, the writers had a lot of fun with the fish out of water elements with the change in locales and the 1950's mindsets giving way to the swinging 60's; but they ran out of ideas pretty quickly.

I read somewhere that Eddie Mekka was heavily negotiating his contract prior to the Cali season which is why they hired Ed Marinaro, aka "Carmine-lite" in the meantime. Eddie signed pretty fast after that, LOL!

I AGREE!!! That show really jumped the shark with those Calif. episodes.

It's like someone else said-a few of the episodes were OK the first season; but then the writers seemed to run out of ideas.

BUT WHY'D THEY HAVE THE ENTIRE CAST MOVE WITH THEM?? THAT WAS STUPID!!!

Richie and LoriBeth were only two people in a cast of--Hey! How many people were on that show near the end? Marion & Howard, Fonzie, Fonzie's kid, Ralph, Potsie, Roger, Jenny Piccalo, Casey, Chachi, Joanie, Al...

I think everyone who DIDN'T follow L&S to Cali ended up in the cast of HD, LOL!
