Default I-offer (reliable?)

I have just joined up after finding some really cheap sets for sale. Fancied one or two. Just wondering if it is any good and how reliable are feedback ratings on it? Being a Brit I have not had any experience with the service.

Any help would be appreciated

ioffer is like any site, some good members, some scammers--- some theifs (avoid ANYONE from loudon tn!)
BUT check the feedback on ioffer they have a FEEDBACK GRABBER so u can have 500 feedbacks on ebay for buying penny auctions and transfer them over and it might MAKE u LOOK like a good seller, when u arent, so be sure to check them out

There is a Latin phrase in the legal system, "Caveat Emptor", let the buyer beware. Like anything else in life it's a gamble. In many cases a real big gamble. Try to get as much info about the seller you can.

As Lamont said, Ioffer is no different from other auction sites. But it seems to me, buyers are less inclined to leave feedback on Ioffer than on Ebay. So quite often, you'll see large numbers of unrated transactions for a seller. I tend to overlook the unrated & focus on the ratio of postives to neg/neutrals & read why someone left a neg/neutral. I don't buy on Ioffer as much as Ebay, but the few times I've purchased from Ioffer, I was happy with the purchase.

One more thing, all auction sites are simply venues. So they both tend to have good sellers & bad sellers and (IMO) the feedback left by buyers is what makes the thing work or not. So just be cautious about researching the seller & only purchase from sellers with very good feedback.

The last set I got from ioffer was the complete Flintstones collection, advertised as 8/10 on quality branded discs.

What I got was a set so used and badly scratched that not one disc will play, copy or work with any file recovery software.

I've had generally good luck with what I've purchased on iOffer. I don't buy a lot, and I tend to comparison shop - I look at multiple listings, the feedback entered on iOffer transactions, the price, the way a seller answers questions, etc. There's no guarantees, but overall, I've been pleased. I've been ripped off fewer times on iOffer than on eBay, but I've bought a lot more on eBay over a much longer period of time. I think I've had something like 10 transactions on iOffer, and on eBay I've got a 518 rating, and nowhere near all of my transactions received feedback. Ugh, that's depressing ... no wonder I have so much stuff.

Before making an offer, check the seller's feedback and prior auctions on the same item to see what something has sold for in the past, then you can offer something a bit less for it. What usually happens is the seller will accept it, or counter for something higher, then you can offer something in the middle.

what he said

plus

a person can get other peoples feedback--not even theirs, and look like a big time honest seller

there are members on sitcoms right now, who have --FAKE-- feedback on their ioffer account

its not even theirs

you can import anyones into anyones account

so be very careful, on any adventure like this

once you send the money, your at the mercy of the seller

and all the fine print will not help you one bit, unless the seller is honest

and as far as reading about the other people who bought the same set

one can have unlimited accounts on ioffer and give themselves feedback for a transaction that never happened

so reading isnt going to help either

Ioffer is pretty safe now.

We've gotten rid of pretty much all the riffraff

They've all moved on to better places - some of them have set up squatters rights, here at sitcoms.

Most of the sets on iOffer came from here. You'd be better off finding a person on here and getting whatever set you're looking for from them.
