The rules:

1st part- choose a favorite tv show of yours that you think ended at the right time

2nd part- pick another show and tell when you think it started to jump the shark

3rd part- pick yet another show that you think should've ended a long time ago (It must be a show in production now!)--

**This could be any kind of show whether it be sitcom, cartoon, drama, or just whatever**

1) I think the tv show "Leave it to Beaver" ended at the right time. I just don't see how it could've went on anymore. I just couldn't see Beaver getting into weird situations when he was in high school. Also I couldn't see the show going on if they moved the characters of Wally, Eddie, and Lumpy to college. I think it ended at a perfect time.

2) I know a lot of people would say that "The Andy Griffith Show" jumped the shark three times, but I think it only jumped twice. I think when Don Knotts left the series- it jumped. When the show started to film in color instead of Black and White- it jumped big time. It got a bit better when Jack Burns joined the cast as Warren, but he was no Don Knotts. Andy's grumpiness was a little hard to adjust to, also.

3)"Ally McBeal" is a show that needs to go now. I used to watch this show, but the story lines just got dumber and dumber. It went into the shock value instead of entertainment. When Robert Downey Jr. joined it brought the show up a knotch, but now he is gone- they might as well pull the plug.

------------------
Hottest Men alive:
Dale Midkiff
Anthony Starke
Tim McGraw
Jonathan Crombie

Lumpy: Did you go out for anything, Dud?

Dudley: Well, I went out for football, but I got my finger stepped on, so my mother made me quit.

Eddie: Well listen-- I went out for basketball and I got my hair pulled, and my mother made ME quit.

Dudley: It's not that I was afraid of getting hurt or anything; it's just that-- well, it's kind o' hard to play the flute with a busted finger.

[Eddie and Lumpy suppress laughter]

Dale Midkiff is my man!

2) ER when George Clooney left. I still like it though. Carby lol

3) Ew. Rugrats!!! No one knows how much I hate them!!!

**In the year 2005, Lauren and I are driving to California to beg and pleed Lisa Whelchel and Nancy McKeon to become our mothers. She will become "Lauren McKeon" and I will become "Karli-wait a minute. I can't become 'Karli Cauble' AGAIN, can I???" Oh well, Just remember us as the "Cauble/McKeon kids!!"**

This song shows an important message

*Look at me, You may think you see who I really am, but you'll never know me. Every day it's as if I play a part. Now I see if I wear a mask, I can fool the world, but I cannot fool my heart. Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me? When will my reflection show who I am inside? I am now in a world where I have to hide my heart, and what I believe in. But somehow, I will show the world what's inside my heart, and be loved for who I am. Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me? Why is my reflection someone I don't know? Must I pretend that I'm someone else, for all time? When will my reflection show who I am inside? There's a heart that must be free to fly. That burns with a need to know the reason why. Why must we all conceal,
what we think, how we feel?
Must there be a secret me, I'm forced to hide? I won't pretend that I'm someone else, for all time. When will my reflection show who I am inside, when will my reflection show who I am inside?*

1 - I think 'My So-called Life' ended at just the right time. They only made 19 episodes and it's the best show ever made. If it had gone on any longer it would have no doubt lost what made it special.

2 - Shows that jumped the shark? Oh, there's too many to mention. 'Two Guys & a Girl' jumped the shark after series 2 when they lost the Pizza Place. 'Dharma & Greg' jumped slightly when they started that storyline about Greg quitting his job. The show got better but I didn't really like any of season 4. I haven't seen any of season 5 yet so I can't tell you if I think it recovered.

3 - 'Dawsons Creek' is one of the worst things on TV and it should be axed NOW!! All the characters should be killed off in really horrible ways cos I hate them all. I don't understand why on earth the show is so popular because teenage life IS NOT LIKE THAT!!! Teenagers don't talk or act like any of those muppets on 'Dawsons Creek' yet everyone goes on and on about how realistic it is!! It's stupid and patronising and it must stop NOW!!!!
I also agree with Jenny that 'Ally McBeal' should go. I used to love the show but they're not coming up with any new ideas any more - they even seem to be re-using all the jokes over and over (if I see one more character dancing by themselves to imaginary music, another charatcer walking in and cathing them and then hearing the sound of a record slipping I think I'll just scream!!) The show picked up for a few episodes when Anne Heche made a guest appearence but it's still not as good as it used to be.

- Gordie, 'Stand By Me'

1) I don't really know...I have to think about this one
2) Boy Meets World - Should have ended when Corey graduated HS. Once they all went to the SAME college (of course) it just got really old. And then when they got married.....
3) I agree with Mossopp- Dawson's Creek is getting on my nerves...along with Buffy, and Felicity...never liked any of them

I know I already posted, but I must agree on Dawson's Creek. I recorded one episode of Dawson because it had Andy Griffith to be on it. I want you to know, I almost fell asleep by the time they did get on Andy Griffith. The bad thing is Andy was only in it like 2 minutes. I don't think I want to catch another episode of DC anytime soon.

1.) Star Trek Voyager ended at the right time. (But let's not even go to how it was ended, because that's a whole 'nother post!)

2.) Mad About You jumped when they got pregnant and had what's her name. The charm of that show was the fact that they were simply a married couple. It made the show more adult, not family oriented, and set if apart from the pack. But once ol' Mabel (I think that was it) came along it was all downhill. In fact the season before Mabel even wasn't all that great because all it was was baby preparations.

3.) The X-Files needs to end NOW! (and I love the X-Files...) In fact, it needed to go a couple of seasons ago, when it coulda gone out in glory . Now it just looks like a dead horse being dragged through the mud. Lord help me I will probably still watch it this season, but it needs to go while it still has a shred of dignity left.

Cool

1) I think Cheers ended at the right time. It was always a great show, but 11 seasons was definitely enough.

2) As much as I love Wings, I have to admit that it did jump the shark when Joe and Helen got married and Lowell left. It just wasn't the same after that, IMHO.

3) I can think of quite a few shows on right now that need to end:
Friends- loved it the first couple of seasons, lost interest after yet another R&R storyline
The Simpsons- love it, but it is starting to get old
ER- same as The Simpsons
Touched by an Angel- why is this still on?
