Default larry king

Did anyone happen to see Suzanne on Larry King Live last night??? She was promoting her new book and was talking all about how hormones saved her from cancer and is free from it now that she is on them. My mom says she probably shouldn't do that b/c what if it came back and she has to eat all her words. I thought about that and she's right. Just thought you would like to know.

Oh No

Frankly, I thought she provided us nothing but her arrogance.

I don't know. She is a very weird person in my eyes. She said she gets Botox twice a year and all I could think was how about once a week! Her face is so tight, I was afraid her jaw was going to drop out when she talked! In the TC book, she goes and says that she was tired of being poor but then she says she was going to go remodel her kitchen so she can teach cooking???

It's interesting to note how she acts as if she doesn't know why Joyce Dewitt wants nothing to do with her. It isn't just about what happened back when Suzanne was fired. It has to do with the lying she's done since then (and continues to lie about to this day).

But more importantly, I think it has to do with the fact that Suzanne refused to honor John Ritter's memory by appearing in the extras on the Three's Company DVDs unless she was paid mucho bucks for it. This news was supported by Chris Mann himself. Some of us speculated that Suzanne was simply never asked to participate and he wanted to set the record straight. Here we were feeling badly for Suzanne, thinking that someone behind the scenes was keeping her away, but no, the truth is, just like before, she caused her own exile.

Other people, like Anne Wedgeworth, formerly Lana Shields, flew across half of the country (and paid for her own airfare) to appear and say a few words. She considered it an honor to be able to say a few words about John and wasn't paid a single dime to do so. But Suzanne tried to cash in on it.

Since Joyce was also participating with Anchor Bay to do extras for the DVD sets, I think she's well aware of Suzanne's *current* behavior and is appalled but is too much of a lady to go into it publicly. Too bad we can't say the same of Suzanne...

You can find it in the cnn transcripts I believe.

With what you guys said, I'm getting sick of her going on and on and on, too. 'Oh, my daddy was an alcholic, boo-hoo." It's like yeah your dad sucks and so do you!!! Gahhh! Why do I watch her if she just makes me upset? Would someone like to tell me that.

So Suzanne doesn't like to work for free. It's not like this was some Public TV special about John Ritter.... it was for DVD sets that people would pay good money for.

It's a shame they used Anne, Joyce, and everyone else basicly to cash in on John's early demise.

I'm sorry but you can fault Suzanne all you want but you gotta admit it's kind of dopey for a big studio to not pay for people to come in for the extras on dvd sets they are selling for profit. They are using these people in the name of John Ritter.

I have a hard time believing as well that so many actors would be willing to do this for free. I mean not even airfair or anything? That's just so wrong.

And for a real John Ritter tribute, if people are to do it for free it should be a TV event, not something people pay good $$$ for on DVD.

Default Clarification

Since I worked on the DVDs (seasons 1-5), I thought it might be helpful for people to understand that all of the actors actually were paid for their appearances. The fee paid, though a modest one, is pretty much a standard amount that actors receive for most TV-on-DVD interviews (as I understand it, anyway).

Ann Wedgeworth essentially did her interview for free because she paid her (and her husband's) NY-to-LA round-trip airfare and hotel expenses. She was thrilled to have a forum to share her thoughts about John. Jenilee came into the studio on a broken foot/ankle, and Don and Richard both re-arranged their schedules to appear together. Joyce made special trips to LA for her appearances, and Nancy Ritter offered her guest house for shooting her and Dave Powers' interviews. As the guy behind the camera asking the questions for these DVD pieces, I witnessed people who loved John -- and who either were not asked to appear in or did not like the Sept. 2003 ABC "news special" or last year's E! 1-hour John True Hollywood Story -- happy to recall the good times. It's too bad Suzanne opted not to participate on these terms.

The thing I thought was interesting about Suzanne's recent Larry King interview was her comment that she now understands why John was so angry at her. "Because he lost a great partner," she said (I'm paraphrasing), referring to herself. I also recall Suzanne appearing on Fox's Good Day Live a week after John passed. She said Joyce should join her in doing a then-proposed Emmy tribute "for John." (Henry Winkler ended up doing the tribute two days later.) Moments later on the Fox show, Suzanne wheeled out a table full of her food products. I don't believe she had a new product to plug at the time, so maybe this is (one of) the interview(s) Gilbert Gottfried saw.

I know you didn't have anything to do with the later seasons but do you know why Priscilla didn't participate in any of the DVDS? I would have loved to see her do an interview.

I'm not sure why Priscilla Barnes didn't participate in Seasons 6-8, or if she was asked. In working on Seasons 1-4, the plan initially was to wait to approach Jenilee and Priscilla only for Season 5 and beyond. But when the second John Ritter tribute was planned for year 3, it was decided kind of late in the game (after I persisted! : ) to extend invitations to J and P. Priscilla couldn't participate because she was shooting a movie during that maybe 3-4 week window of time we had left to produce content. Suzanne had been asked multiple times over a period of several months prior to that, beginning with production on the Season 2 John Tribute, which Joyce hosted/narrated.

I hope that clears things up a bit!

Thanks Chris. I want to add what everybody else has already said. Your commentaries on those DVDs were excellent.
