Sad Something's not normal with me.........................

I don't think I'm normal, and not in the "Everyday quirky" way either................ I think something is wrong with my brain..................... I don't think I behave the way a normal 22 year old should be behaving. In fact, I don't think I've been normal for my whole life.................... When I was nine, my biological mother said that I was a three year old in a nine year old's body..................................... My mom once said that she would beat the shait out of my younger brother if he turned out like me.......... She once said that she wished she could beat the retarted shait out of me................... I once overheard my mom say that she figured something wasn't right with me and took me to get my brain tested and the testers found nothing wrong with me............................................ My mom once told me that she wanted to send me t o a school for *******................... My dad said something's not right with my head, and my mother says that I have a mental problem........................ My grandmother must have sensed that something wasn't right with me either......... She told me when I was six that there were people who thought I didn't have all my senses(Who criticizes a six year old for not having sense? Many people think it's normal for a six year old to be goofy and childish)....................If she's telling a six year old this, there might be a big problem with that six year old................. In school, there were kids who thought I was crazy and people called me a "******". I wonder If I am mildly ********............................ I wonder if my mom drank while she was pregnant with me........ I thought about this after I found out that there was no official advising against drinking alcohol while pregnancy until 1988. I was born in 1984............................ And my mom was a young parent when she had me. sSe had me just months before her 18th birthday, and probably didn't know that she shouldn't drink alcohol during pregannacy because she was so young................................ Since I am now an adult(but for some reason still feel like a child), do you think the hospital I was born in will tell me if I was born with any brain defects if I go there soon? Do you think they will let me know if I was a normal healthy newborn? How much do you think it cost to get a new brain test? For all I know, the people who told my mom nothing was wrong with me could have read the test results wrong.............................

Maybe you should see a psychiatrist? If you really think you have deep problems, they'll be able to help 100% more than any of us here. Seriosuly, not trying to be rude.

I agree. I mean, this is not the first time this has been posted regarding this similar issue.

I agree with the above. And also, if your mother had you at 17, she shouldnt have been drinking anyways- regardless of not knowing during pregnancy.

Why do you feel you don't like 22 years old? What do 22 year olds act like?

Is there a county-run hospital you could go to? County run hospitals accept poor people/people without insurance, and they probably have psychiatrists you could see and you wouldn't likely have to pay anything.

the case could be slow brain development; in which case, i don't think it would have been possible for the doctors know about it at birth. you could see some kind of a psychologist somewhere who could determine whether there is some unusual. the fact that you realize this and are concerned shows intelligence.

I'm so sorry all those people said those mean things to you, that was just cruel of them. I really don't know what kind of advice I can give you, that hasn't already been given, but I do wish you the best in finding the answers you're searching for.

Have you ever thought that you have ADD or ADHD?

Don't beat yourself over the head. People could be so cruel.

Maybe your mom had a hard time giving birth to you. Did you ever ask her? You're a good person let those stupid people talk all they want. They are the ones who are ignorant.

As a person gets older they come into their own bodies. If it bothers you that much tell your family physician and from there they will guide you to who you have to see.

Don't worry about being "crazy", you're in good company.

Like an ad I saw five years ago:

Sanity is the playground for the unimaginative.
