Top 10 Cheesiest Movie Moments

Whether it's a gooey Velveeta moment of lovey-dovey gushing or a more sophisticated Camembert moment of puffed up effusiveness, Hollywood loves its cheesy movie scenes. The editors at Empire magazine have embraced Hollywood cheese and assembled the top 10 cheesiest movie moments.

No. 1 cheesiest movie moment is...
Leading the pack is the scene from "Independence Day" when the president, played by the very forgettable Bill Pullman says, "We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!" Empire calls that "a cornball speech that sounds like Shakespeare rewritten by kindergarteners."

Be prepared to groan and cringe. Here are the other nine cheesy movie moments:

Tom "Maverick" Cruise tells Val "Iceman" Kilmer: "You can be my wingman anytime."

3. "The Karate Kid"
In the climax, Ralph Macchio has to face the final bout of a karate tournament with an injured leg. Of course, he wins--with an amazing move.

4. "Four Weddings and a Funeral"
At the end of the movie, Andie MacDowell finally gets together with Hugh Grant during a torrential downpour and says, "Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed."

5. "Pearl Harbor"
Enraptured Kate Beckinsale reads a love letter while the sun sets on Hawaii.

6. "Stepmom"
Cancer-stricken Susan Sarandon leads her kids in a sentimental family sing-along.

7. "The Postman"
A blind woman, who worships Kevin Costner as a messiah-like mail carrier, says, "You're a Godsend, a savior." He replies, "No, I'm just the postman."

8. "An Officer and a Gentleman"
Richard Gere sweeps Debra Winger off her feet on the factory floor and carries her off to a better life with him.

9. "Patch Adams"
Terminally-ill children show up in court to save the career of Patch Adams, played by Robin Williams. Empire gave Williams a special commendation, noting that many of his films are like "being dipped in a churning vat of Camembert."

10. "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones"
Hayden Christensen is lusting for Natalie Portman when he offers this discourse on the sand: "It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth."

A real cheesy moment was in the movie, Fever Pitch, with Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon. He plays a guy completed obsessed with the Red Sox. Drew plays the ignored girlfriend.

When the Red Sox slaughter the Yankees, coming back from a 3-game deficit, he decides he wants to marry her. They're on the Jumbotron, with the crowd cheering. It was corny and cheesy, but I did like seeing the Sox/Yankee bloodbath played out in a major movie.

Enough is enough. The participating parties have been told to back off and move on. What started as some friendly jabbing just went on too long. If you are going to dish it out, you need to take it sometimes.

And Kim, you do not moderate this board. I do. You already reported some posts, which is what you SHOULD do, so I see no reason for you to lecture others on their posting. I know it's tempting but don't. It makes the work of other mods harder.

Any other posts on this issue will be deleted. This is not up for debate.

Actually brian, Let me ammend my post.

Your right, this isn't the place and your forum doen'st need to have chaos in it.
I disagree with a few things, thats fine.

I chose to share my opinion and it came across as trying to moderate if that made things harder, I apologize.

I don't want to cause for you here the chaos some members cause for me in other forums.

Some members only want to aggrivate others, but you have to allow yourself to be aggrivated in the long run.

Thank you for adding some simple clarity.
