I'm thinking about purchasing one of these...
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ALUMINUM-600-CD-R...QQcmdZViewItem I haven't decided what size to go with yet, but I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on what to look for? Does anyone know of another place that also sells them; in Canada preferably. Thanks. |

Reviewer: Tom | 2006-08-07 Update This is an update to my earlier review. While I still like this case and would recommend it for large storage purposes it should be understood it WILL NOT HOLD 1,000 CDs or DVDs! The case is just not big enough. It has four (4) divided areas requiring 250 CDs or DVDs to be in each section. To get more than 240 in a section would require very forceful shoving to get 250 you will have to use a hammer! Is this true? |

I have one of these cases. They look nice, with the felt interior and all, but it just wasn't practical for the size of my collection so I never bought any more.
As for the actual disc count it can hold, I can't say for sure but I'm sure it's very close to what they say. Be advised that the way the lid (top part) connects to the bottom part is kind of flimsy (on the back) Two very very thin rods is all that's holding it together. The top often slides right off when it's open, splitting the case in to 2 seperate pieces. This might be handy when your sorting discs to remove the lid all together but to me, it made the case kind of cheaper than I thought it was. I'll post some pictures to show you what I mean later or tomorrow. I don't even bother using the little plastic sticks that hold the sleeves on those metal railings. The sleeves kept sliding off so I just threw them away. I just have the discs in the sleeves sitting inside the case. I have to say though, the price is much better than what I paid for it over a year ago so I would still buy one because of the price |
