Imagine if a feature film version of Happy Days was made. If there was, it should be made as a family film, same as the legendary sitcom. I'm not sure if Paramount is planning a Happy Days feature film, but if they were, I've a dream cast in mind to play the primary characters:
Jason Ritter as Richie Joey Lawrence as Fonzie Ariana Savalas(Telly Savalas' youngest daughter) as Joanie Jesse Lee(from the Brady Bunch movies) as Ralph Christian Savalas(Ariana's older brother) as Potsie Haley Duff as Lori Beth Bryce Howard as Marsha Simms Matthew Lawrence as Chachi Lindsay Lohan as Jenny Piccalo Kevin James as Howard Annette O'Toole as Marion Mark Addy(late of CBS-TV's Still Standing) as Al Clyde Kusatsu(from Magnum, P.I.) as Arnold Gary Valentine as Mickey Malph Clint Howard as Burkhardt Richard Belzer as Bronko, ace mechanic Brad Garrett as Officer Kirk Avril Lavigne as Leather Tuscadero Weezer as Leather's backup band The movie should be set sometime in the very early 1960's, so somewhere in the movie, Howard and Marion Cunningham can make mention of The Andy Griffith Show, particularly of Opie Taylor reminding them of Richie at that age. The movie would feature Richie, Ralph and Potsie while they're still at the University of Wisconsin, Al and Arnold finally running Arnold's Diner together with both Marsha and Lori Beth as their waitresses, Howard running his hardware store, Marion giving piano lessons to the young, and Joanie and Chachi hanging out with their high school friends. Fonzie is working with Bronko, fixing up cars and dating afterwards. They all try to stay out of the way of gung ho Officer Kirk, as he fruitlessly tries to antagonize Fonzie by radical means. The Leopard Lodge would sponsor a block party to benefit the Milwaukee Neighborhood Watch program, and the main attraction would be Leather and her band. Everyone gets preparations ready for the block party, to the dismay of the Cunningham's neighbor, Mr. Burkhardt. But before the block party, everyone runs into trouble when a band of brazen loansharks try to hit up the merchants for more money than they can give. Fonzie would use his brains instead of his fists to trick the hard-luck losers into a police trap at Arnold's. When Fonzie receives a reward from the police for his part in the capture of the loansharks, he splits the reward money with every one of the merchants who've gotten robbed by these brazen thugs. Afterwards, the block party is on, and that's where the movie would conclude. Now, who's your dream cast and how would you plot the movie? Please post now! |

if they would make an H.D. movie (and I'm sure they will, with all the other movies based on old TV shows!) I can tell you one thing: it'll definetly be HORRIBLE!!!! Just like all the other movies made from old TV shows. (sure, STARSKEY & HUTCH was great, but that was a rarity).
When will Hollywood learn? They've made movies of THE BEVERLLY HILLBILLIES, SGT. BILKO, THE HONEYMOONERS, CHARLIES ANGELS, McHALES NAVY, LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, MY FAVORITE MARTION. The list goes on and on and on.... And only about 3% of them are any good! |

Okay, here's my version
Topher Grace as Richie Freddie Prinze Jr as Fonzie Amanda Byrnes as Joanie Jimmy Fallon as Ralph Ashton Kutcher as Potsie Racheal Leigh Cook as Lori Beth Andrew Lawrence as Chachi Hilary Duff as Jenny Piccalo John Goodman as Howard Katey Sagal as Marion Jim Belushi as Al Jackie Chan as Arnold Mel Gibson as Officer Kirk Avril Lavigne as Leather Tuscadero Blink 182 as Leather's backup band I think that it should be set in the early 60s and there might be a load of action and comedy in it |

Hey Race's Girl, we're in agreement that for a feature film version of Happy Days, Avril Lavigne should be Leather Tuscadero and that the film should be set in the early 1960's. Now, what do you think about Howard and Marion Cunningham possibly making mention of Opie Taylor from The Andy Griffith Show reminding them of Richie at his (Opie's) age?

I hope they don't ever do a remake of Happy Days. But if they do, Ted McGinley should play Howard. Either way, I won't watch it.
Hollywood needs to stop remaking old shows and movies. They need to come up with some new material. |
