Would you ask someone who was graduated to a Home Coming Dance? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I am in a predicement here. There is a new girl at my work who shares a lot of the same interests as me. We like the same music, we like to make fun of customers together, we both get along really well. The only problem is that she is older than me. I honestly don't know how old she is though. I know she is under 21 and goes to community college. Now I know she likes talking to me, she doesn't really talk to many of the other employees there, but I don't want to look like a fool by asking her to a little high school dance. She didn't even go to my school so it isn't like she is reminicing the school or anything if she went. The dance is in a few weeks, and I don't know if I should as her or not. I don't want to ruin what I have now with her. I have never seen her out of work so that might be the first step for me. Any suggestions?

Definitely ask her. The two of you obviously get along, and I'm sure she'll look at it as a fun night out.

you could prepare yourself by telling her a while before asking her that you're going to a homecoming dance and looking for a date....and kind of see what she says.

Go for it. Who cares how old she is? The other guys might be jealous. Feel it out like Sarah said and see if she's responsive.

maybe you could go ask her to see a movie or something this coming weekend, just to see how you guys get along outside of work

I say you should go ahead and ask her to the dance. I like the advice that Sarah posted.

You may want to check with the administration office at your high school first, though- my high school had a policy that if you wanted to bring someone to the homecoming dance or prom that was a high school graduate but under 21, you needed to see them to get permission. If you wanted to bring a date that was over 21, it was absolutely forbidden.

Nevertheless, good luck and have fun at the homecoming dance.

We just need to get a letter signed, it is real easly. Not much is on it but there name.

Hmmm...I wonder if my school had that policy. I never needed to know.

My high school had the worst policy ever when it came to homecoming dance and other school dances. You couldn't even bring any date from another high school or not of your school at all. Plus she had to be in the same grade as you, too.

Sounds like this girl really likes you when you stated that you make fun of the customers together and she mostly talks to you. I was in situations like that myself, so go for it. According to how she warms up to you, there is a good chance she will say yes. If she is under 21, and you I am assuming a senior, that's will make no difference.
