Default Olliver Queen on Smallville

OK, I may be in the minority here, because I have always been a much bigger fan of the Green Arrow than I have of Superman, but nonetheless it seems like they are going to completely mutilate everything about this character...

- why are they trying to make him look like a VILLAIN????!! while he has always been a character that opposes authority, it just seems like they are making him too dark.

- at the age he is supposed to be on the show, he is YEARS away from becoming the green arrow, and had no intention of becoming anything other than drunk and finding women - unless they are going to say that he has already been marooned and developed his archery skillz

- at that age, he wasn't involved in his family's company any more than finding new ways to spend their money, and when he FIRST starting acting out as the Green Arrow, it was only to rebel against his responsibilities

- HOW FREAKIN TALL IS THAT GUY ANYWAYS???!?!
(according to DC, he is supposed to be 5'-11")

- Lex and Oliver Queen went to prepschool together?

- is the learning disabled henchman supposed to be Speedy (Roy Harper), or WHAT?

- did he just say Paraguay? what the heck was THAT?

- why would he leave Star City and the Arrowcave for Metropolis?

- In the pilot episode of Smallville, during the sequence just before the 1989 meteor shower, Lionel Luthor is shown reading a newspaper in the helicopter with Lex - the headline is clearly visible, stating "QUEEN INDUSTRIES CEO MISSING" a potential reference to Green Arrow's father, are they planning on tieing this in somehow?

- I have heard rumors that he is supposed to be forming a new Justice League with some of the other past superhero guest-stars on the show - the Green Arrow has always only ever been a part-time or reserve member, definately not the founder...

anyways, that's MY two cents, but I am going to TRY to like the character anyways - maybe they'll even give him a spin-off if things go well pissed:

It seems the Smallville folks like to cast actors who are more eye candy than character - the guy playing Oliver Queen is more wooden then the Kent Barn.

I can't wait to get a decent look at the Greem Arrow costume.

^ We'l see the costume next week. It looks great...And I do agree. There's no personality to that guy. Maybe in the next few episodes he'll get better. Let's not hope for miracles, I mean, he is a Soap star.

No, he was not a charter member in the comics, but he became a full-fledged member in just the JLA's seventh adventure in the 1960s. He had the distinction of being the first asked to join the established group as a new addition.

The producers of Smallville probably thought that he would be best for their purposes when considering some of the others who could start up the league (Aquaman, Cyborg, Flash).
