Ok people, here's the deal. I used to believe all these virus things that I read too, when I first got on the internet. I have learned in time to be a bit wiser.
This "sulfnbk.exe" hoax is more insidious than most, because it actually convinces you to blow away files that are supposed to be on your computer. I urge all of you to get into the habit of checking these things out with the experts before you start deleting things. Here is a list of helpful websites, all of which maintain a list of virus hoaxes: http://www.stiller.com/ http://www.vmyths.com/ http://vil.mcafee.com/hoax.asp http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html http://www.hoaxkill.com/index2.shtml http://urbanlegends.about.com/scienc...s/virushoaxes/ Don't get me wrong, I am by NO means saying that every virus warning is a hoax. Of course viruses are out there, and they can be destructive. But the sad fact is you don't hear about the real viruses usually. It's not good to go deleting files just because some random e-mail tells you to. Please don't be so gullible, check the web sites first! |

I suppose I should add, of course it is always good to keep an updated virus scanner on your computer, and scan frequently.

Even months after this was posted, we gotta keep hoaxes from running rampant.
