Default Willona/Penny/Florida: the sex talk

Everytime I see this episode, I get really annoyed with Wilona. I guess I could understand her feelings, but why wait until something bad happen to give the talk? Penny obviously knew about being pregnant because she mentioned her friend. I'm sure even in this day and age, there are parents who are scared to talk to their kids about sex and drugs as well. Why hide the truth from kids because they will eventually find out from tv or friends. That's why it is best for kids to hear it from their parents.

The classic line:
Florida: Old woman who lived in a shoe. She had one child and didn't know what to do!

Um, you know, that's what the episode was all about, parents should talk to their kids about important things that are hard to talk about before they find out the hard way.

Yeah, I know but watching that episode always makes me want to jump through the tv and shake Wilona.

Me too. Willona showed a great deal of pride in that episode and it was too bad. But the fight between Florida and Willona was funny and made great comedy.

I agree, I think it's so easy to say "talk to your kids about sex" but it's easier said then done. I dread the day when I have to sit my little girl down and tell her about sex and what happens and what not.

i have two girls. Had to do that talk "twice"...Good Lord, thank God I have a son, let his father take over. It is a very "weird" talk because they ask things and you must say the correct terms, they blush, they laugh, they get embarrassed. Whoo, thank God my girls are adults now. It is not an easy thing to talk abt, so Brie is correct in saying it's easy to say "talk to your kids" but it's not easy doing it. I practiced in my head how I was going to tell them, over and over and over again, but it's like practicing a speech in front of millions of people, you will not know how it will go down until you actually have to do it.

Well my day is coming soon and like you I'll have to give "the talk" twice. My oldest daughter turned 3 today and my youngest turns 1 on Friday.

In this episode, I think they give Penny's age as 13. Shouldn't she have already had "the talk" LONG before then?

I screamed when Florida said that classic line to her.

But the fight between Florida and Wilona was a scream especially when they were grabbing for that piece of laundry. I was howling. Then when Wilona came back and look for Penny their snippy tone towards each other was funny as well. When Penny was nearly attacked by a boy was moving and Florida's and Wilona's reconcilation was touching.

Well I was 12 when I had "the talk". Some people are uncomfortable with having "the talk" about sex especially when they have to have that conversation with their own children. You never know what questions will be asked.

I remember when I was in the 7th grade we had a sex ed class. Our teacher put up a question box where you could write down a question that you were too embarrass to ask, and at the end of the class you could put it in the box, so the next day she would read the questions out loud and answer them. And my goodness the questions that some of those kids would ask

Looking back now I kinda feel sorry for Mrs. Johnson

As a matter of fact, when my youngest daughter had a sex education class, they had a true or false quiz and one of the questions was regarding that Sprite rumor...
