Hi everyone,
I thought it might be fun and helpful to start a thread on the topic of job search tips. Does anyone have any wisdom that they would like to share that may help others who are looking for work? From websites to suggestions to even fields of work, anything may help someone. Thanks and happy posting. |

Get a job that you know you will enjoy. Find your passion and pursue it in the employment line. Then work will seem like play!
But what do I know, I'm still unemployed!

You know what's frustrating, being seven months from graduation and the perfect jobs for you appearing in the paper. I think I'm going to send my resume in anyway, just in case they can wait seven months!

Here's my tip -
DON'T just take the first job you are offered. If you have been to another job interview that you think went well and you liked it better then WAIT! You can always tell your prospective employer that you are waiting to hear from another company and could they please keep their offer open. When I left school I was under so much pressure from my parents that I just took the very first job I was offered. I HATE it but, over a year later, I'm still there - I'm stuck!! Don't just jump head-first into something you may not even enjoy doing. Or course, if the money is good then who cares! ![]() ------------------ "This life has been a test. monster.com is pretty awesome, but be forewarned - companies receive so many responses to postings out there that it isn't the best way to get notice. The best way to find a job is to wander around the site of a company you are interested in and look for job postings there. Also, a friend getting you in should not be undervalued. Connections are still the most powerful way to find employment.
