Marissa Cooper may be deceased, but the fourth season of FOX's "The O.C." will feature plenty of familiar faces along with several guests.
As expected, "The O.C." will launch on Thursday, Nov. 2 and, as has been previously reported, "Everwood" co-star Chris Pratt will promptly begin a multi-episode guest-starring arc as Che, Summer's (Rachel Bilson) new svengali at Brown, a young man responsible for turning the formerly superficial prom queen into a tree-hugging activist. FOX also announced that 17-year-old recording artist Chris Brown will begin shooting a slew of episodes playing Will Tutt, a lonely band geek who befriends Kaitlin Cooper (new series regular Willa Holland) and maybe stirs up a little romance in Orange County. Brown's self-titled debut disc on Jive Records has gone platinum thanks in large part to the success of his first single "Run It!" In addition to Holland's new status as a regular, Autumn Reeser will also be a regular this season, expanding on her role as Taylor Townsend. The network offered a few hints on how the first Mischa-free "O.C." season would begin. Sandy (Peter Gallagher) returns to the public defenders office and things with Kirsten (Kelly Rowan) have never been better, though they have some concerns that Ryan (Benjamin McKenzie) is straying from the straight-and-narrow. Meanwhile, with Summer off at college, Seth has taken to watching golf with Dr. Roberts (Michael Nouri) and hanging out with various Newspies. Kaitlin has transferred to Harbor and she's causing trouble with Luke's brothers (Corey Price and Wayne Dalglish) and Julie Cooper (Melinda Clarke) has taken up yardwork. "I'm very proud of these episodes and I think they convey real emotion and drama but also, more importantly, humor and heart," creator Josh Schwartz says in a statement. "I believe our fans will find this focus on our core characters and their relationships really satisfying. The show has been reinvented; rebooted. Personally, it feels like 'The O.C.' is back. I hope our fans feel the same way." |
