It's probably too late to do this for Season 3 but I was thinking it would have been a great promotion for Sony to release Season 4 maybe 2 months after Season 3 in early December and have a set release date before Season 3 comes out. If they promoted Season 4 on the release of Season 3, it might pump up sales. For example, if they had a big sticker on Season 3 saying "Don't Forget to Pick Up Season 4 on... to see Jo and Blair graduate from Eastland" Then, we could usher in the Edna's Edibles years next. Just an idea that I thought might mean bigger sales for Sony.
Also, does anyone have any idea what Sony's plans are for the Paris movie? I would like it to be on a separate disc but a bonus feature would be great too. There's so much Sony could do with their future sets of FOL. |

I wish I knew Sony's rationale for the allotment of 5 months between the release of Seasons 1 & 2 and Season 3.
I can only guess Sony wants to be certain every new DVD release will sell well, and that must be determined by the long-term interest in the prior DVD release. In other words, the company doesn't want to produce a DVD set that otherwise sits on store shelves after only a couple of weeks of strong sales. Although TV show DVD sets generally sell well, every company has issued some duds. Here's another Sony example: All in the Family, Season 1 was released in March 2002. It took until January 2006 for Sony to finally release AITF Season 5. It was an amazing 1 1/2 year wait between Season 2 and Season 3! (AITF goes back to TV's older days, when a TV season was generally 34 episodes, rather than today's 22.) So, I guess Sony is even more careful when issuing a 4 DVD set. |

I SUSPECT THAT SONY DIDN'T REALIZE HOW WELL THE FACTS SET DID, AND WHEN THEY SAW THE FIGURES, THEY QUCIKLY WENT TO WORK TO ISSUE SEASON 3. I THINK THAT STICKER THING'S A GREAT IDEA, AND I TOO WONDERED IF SEASON 4 WOULD BE OUT BY THE END OF THE YEAR, IF SALES DO WELL AGAIN. WHICH, DUH, WE ALL KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT NOW, DON'T WE!? SO, SONY, BETTER GET TO WORK, AND THIS TIME, PLEASE INCLUDE SOME GOOD BONUS MATERIAL. I SAID BONUS, NOT BOGUS!
I PERSONALLY WISH EDNA EDIBLES YEARS, OOH WITH MS. G, AND THEN THE LAST 2 SEASONS WITH BEVERLY ANN BE RELEASED AS PACKAGES. OF COURSE THE 2 FACTS MOVIES TO BE INCLUDED AS THEY WERE AIRED, AND ALSO TO INCLUDE THE REUNION MOVIE WITH THE LAST DVD. HOWEVER, DISNEY PRODUCED THE FACTS REUNION, SO... |

I think it would be fantastic if they released more double-season sets. I think that played a part in the first set having such strong sales. I have a feeling all seasons from here on in will be single-season sets though. Does Sony ever read this board? I really think the sticker idea could work well with promoting future sets. I would love to, ultimately, see all things FOL released on DVD.
