In this poigant new drama series Sally Field stars as Mittzie Walker a Los Angeles Television reporter who suffers a total mental breakdown after catching her husband of fifteen years cheating and is committed to a mental hospital after being found guilty of his murder... This is the story of her life in the instiution and her journey towards recovery, which may come sooner than she thinks as evidance soon starts to surface that her husband may well be alive, which provides fuel for her to recover as she knows she was set-up... the problem, will anyone believe her?
Matthew Perry co-stars as Mitchell Lineman a schizophrenic in the institution who Mittzie begins to fall for, despite a large age difference... Dana Delaney co-stars as Claire, Mittzie's uppity and unsympathetic daughter who blames Mittize for all of her many problems, including her recent misscarriage and subsequent divorce. Scott Foley stars as Ron Maynard a hot-shot young and very arrogant distirict attorney who doesn't believe a word Mittize says and was solely responsiable for her conviction... Monica Keena co-stars as Sylvia a patient at the institution who Mittize befriends and confides her deepest secrets too, Sylvia's condition is unknown and Mittize soon begins to think that Sylvia along with many other patients at the hospital may not in fact be sick at all... Kellie Martin appears as Kitty Sullivan, a young social worker for the state who soon begins to believe that not only was Mittize set-up, but that the institution may be filled with patients that are not in fact ill at all..
