Default Kleenex or tissue? Tylenol or aspirin? Brand names or product name...

It seems there are many brand/product names that are used in place of the actual item, such as "Do you have a Kleenex?" "Do you have any Tylenol?
The word KLEENEX has become the generic word/term when one asks for tissue.

I remember growing up people would ask for or say ASPIRIN. As I got older, the word TYLENOL became the generic term that people said. Even if one would just want a pain reliever, any pain reliever, a lot of people ask for TYLENOL.

Clorox is another brand name. I never say BLEACH, I use the brand name CLOROX when referring to bleach.

Are there any other brand names that are used a lot whether by the general public or you?

People use to say Comet, or now it's Ajax or cleanser.

In many offices, the word Xerox became the word for copy.

"Could you make a xerox of this reciept for me?"

That's funny abt the Ajax / Comet products. I say COMET because that's the one I buy/prefer. I have heard my daughters ask "Where's the Ajax, even though it was the Comet brand.

Xerox is another one that is real popular. I believe in the movie 9 to 5 the Lily Tomlin character uses the word XEROX as oppose to copies.

Awesome!
Dang! I never realized how many brand names are substituted for products. I guess we just say them and not realize how many there really are.

I have never heard of Krazy Glue.

I am guilty of this one, not sure about everyone but I call all frozen waffles Eggos even if they are the Aunt Jemmia ones.
