It starred George Carlin, Buddy Rich and Buddy Greco and had guest stars each week such as Sheila MaCrae and Richard Pryor. I believe it ran about a dozen shows. Anyway, Amazon.com thinks it is available. Is that George Carlin on the cover?"
![]() The details are that of the 1967 series, but it's really a kid's video with a similar name. See reviews. It's funny that none of the sellers make any mention that Amazon's description is wrong. Link below: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/6304094000/imdb-adbox/ |

May be mixed-up confusion on someone's part - the Larson piece was actually called Away We Go - in New York City. Indeed, Mr. Carlin was a part of the 1967 Away We Go show - he would make (I think) two appearances on the final 1966-70 incarnation of the Gleason show before making a 180° turn in his comedy. And yes, Ms. MacRae did make an appearance. I doubt that '67 show is in any home-video format - VHS, DVD or Beta
.The real oddity, I.M.H.O., was the 1968 summer-replacement offering The Dom DeLuise Show. Produced by Gleason's company, that program aired in the Wednesday-night slot vacated for the summer by The Jonathan Winters Show - while the summer replacement for Gleason's own show, in his own time slot, was the now-classic Patrick McGoohan series The Prisoner. 'Twas the last time Gleason would have any summer-replacement entry - the last two years were repeats of his own show. |
