I own three of them- Don't Just Stand There, Patty, and Songs of Valley of the Dolls. Which ones am I missing? Has anybody heard these?

..'seventies'. She recorded them for United Artists records in 1965 [they also co-produced her TV series], and she had a pretty good set of pipes, even though she didn't consider herself a "singer". The third album was released in conjunction with her "big" 1967 film, but wasn't a personal triumph for HER. She went through a lot of personal problems before, during and after filming of "Dolls", and she didn't sound "so good" as she did on her earlier records. The "original soundtrack" album I have, but NOT "Songs Of...".

"Say Something Funny" WAS one of her "Top 40" hits released in 1965, 'Li-Sung'. But it was the last one.

I love "Patty Duke Sings Songs from Valley of the Dolls and other selections."
Come Live with Me is my favorite. I think even if I wasn't a Valley of the Dolls fan, I would still love it. |

Patty could really sing...that's for sure! I loved her singing--esp, in The Valley Of The Dolls.

I got out my copy of the Don't Just Stand ThereLP and gave it a play. The title track I have always liked, but I didnt thin she did a good job on her versions of "Downtown" and "A World Without Love". Other than that its a fine album

My favorite Patty Duke song is Funny Little Butterflies. Patty performs the song in the season three episode- Partying Is Such Sweet Sorrow. I think Don't Just Stand There was a little too serious of a song for her to sing, lighter songs like Funny Little Butterflies were more appropriate for her at the time.
