Benicia, California-
California State Capital 1852-1853.
Our only claim to fame, sadly...
Wait! Billy Joe Armstrong, the lead singer of Green Day, went to my junior high. Does that count?

Errm, well I could cheat here and say that Glasgow is my home town.....but it isn't. Which is a shame cos there are a million and one interesting things I could tell you about the city. The nearest 'big-ish' town to where I live is Helensburgh which is an extremely boring place. It does have one extremely cool claim to fame though. Helensburgh was the birthplace of John Logie Baird - the guy who invented television

Some others are that Vinnie Delnegro (sp?) and Travis Best, both basketball players, are from Spfld. Travis Best actually played on my grammar school's basketball team! John Shea, who played Lex Luthor on Lois and Clark: the New Adventures of Superman, is from here and went to the high school my brother is at. And yesterday, Moses Malone, John Cheney and Krysheski (sp??) (It's the coach of Duke I think) got inducted into the Hall of Fame at my brother's school because the old Hall of Fame is junky and the new one is under construction. For the actual town I LIVE in there is NOTHING, though. (I live close to Spfld.) On my town's like charter or something that we got last year, the calendar of big events that happened included that the CVS moved down the street and a coffee shop moved across the street...

Grand Funk Railroad(We're An American Band) most notable!

Also, sorry to report a few years ago, the Berlin and Farro waste dump in Swartz Creek,in the Flint area, made national news headlines!

And most importantly,Flint is the G M center of North America. But sadly G M is pulling out of here! Thanks Generous Motors!!

Grass Valley and Nevada City. Goldmining. Many of the town buildings are preserved from that era.
