Has anyone read the actual book entitled "sleeping with the devil" about the Richard Mimes and Barbara Petrovsky story?

No, but I keep looking to buy it on Half.com. I want to say you can get it on there for like, two dollars.

I've read it, its actually one of the least enjoyable UM related books I read as it comes off more like a tawdry romance novel with a twist at the end then anything really to do with a "true crime" or "mystery" genre. Even though the book was written with Barbara's help/blessing it actually makes both Richard Mintz and Barbara Petrosky seem very unlikeable so by the time it gets to the point where Barbara is assaulted at the donut shop, although you do feel bad for her you also see the many times she could have left Mintz but chose not to.
I think at one point the author states that Dick and Barbara were "addicted to each other", its not that far from the truth. |

Generally speaking, people in abusive relationships such as Richard and Barbara's ARE addicted to each other.
Well... at least that's what they told me in my Domestic Violence counseling training... |
