Default A computer problem, please help!!

I just got some pictures from my brother and sister in laws wedding yesterday. The pictures were put onto a disk, but for some reason when I put the disk in, nothing shows up. It use to be that I'd put the disk in, and it would automatically start, but for some reason it's not doing that anymore. I even tried clicking on the DVD Rom drive myself, and still nothing happens. I'm able to play it on my dvd player that's connected to my tv, but not my computer one. Does anyone know why this may be, and what I can do to go about fixing this annoying problem?? I want to post some of the wedding pics here, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

If the disk doesnt start when you put it in, then AutoPlay is not enabled or there is no autorun file on teh CD (personally I dont use AutoPlay as it can be a security risk). Open Windows Explorer and right click on the drive choosing "explore" - does naything open at all? Even a blank window, files ect? You can try cleaning the disk and see what happens. If nothing still works I'd try another DVD in teh same drive ot make sure that one plays and eliminate the possibility of a hardware problem.

Good luck!

try the disk in another computer if you can - it could be a problem with the disk, or it may even be that the disk has not been finalized; is this a cd-r or a cd-rw, or possibly even a dvd-r disk we're dealing with here?

does your computer have a cdwriter or any cd-burning software on it?

Hey I am Roboto, thanks for the advice. I tried everything you mentioned, including opening windows explorer, and clicking on the drive, and nothing showed up. I also put a real DVD in, and it worked just fine. It seems that the only ones I have a problem with are the homeade disks that people make for me. They just don't want to start for some reason. But anyways, thanks again for the advice. It's appreciated!!

I tried the disk on my roomates computer yesterday, and it worked just fine on hers. It seems to just be a problem with my computer, because this has happened with other disks that people have made for me as well. In answer to your other questions, it is a cd-r, (Whatever that means, LOL). Also, my computer doesn't have any cd burning software, and as far as I know, it doesn't have a cdwriter either, although I'm not positive about that.
