Default Favor? Weird Trade Request

Okay..odd request-
as a lot of people know I flooded-

and a lot of my dvds were stored in paper envelopes-
paper- absorbs water. Heh.

I don't want to drop a lot of cash right now - because I need it elsewhere- does anyone have any plastic spindles I can have/borrow?

I can't imagine they would be expensive to ship, just bulky- but it sa waterproof stackable, easy way to store things right now.

if anyone has any, I could use it really really badly right now-

25/s 50's 100's whatever you got- if it isnt too much trouble for anyone, let me know.

Thanks so much...

Kim

Default Yes

Yes that is exactly what I am talking about-

If anyone has any, I would glady take them if it won't put them out any, or cost anything terribly.

If shipping is an issue, I can try to work something out-

Due to the flood these are ideal for my situation right here-

Anyone who has any, that feel like sharing, just drop me a pm for my address-
and if your requesting something in return, let me know so we can discuss it.

Thank you ahead of time for any help- I know its an odd request- but I am trying ot protect what i Have left- and these offer protection as well as easy storage/ways to pack things up

Jenny< I pmed you- specifically- many many thanks!

Default ty

I am not going to say no to anyone who wants to send them

THe drill is I have to take each one out of the wet sleeves clean them and repackage them
I have about, no kidding 25,000 discs.

So er...I don't expect to get all I need, but I am grateful for whatever non expesnive contirbutions anyone can make-

anyone who wants to - I will take them gladly, if it doens't put anyone out- but it isn't expected and if you change your mind, i will not be upset.

Its not the larges problem I am facing, but I admit, protecting my years of investment does matter to me and so far I have suffered the loss of about 70 sets- due to chemcials/and sewage wrecking the discs-
So right now I have them all over the house- trying to clean them etc-

I hope this never ever ever happens to anyone, this entire process is a disaster from attorneys to insurance to just day in and day out living-

thank you for the help and generosity you guys have shown, i can't thank you enough.
It seems silly, but these really are helping me to organize and protect things

25,000 discs. geez u need a lot then.. i wish i didnt throw mine away last week. wow 70 sets ruined.. whenever i get discs in bad shape i try to clean them the best i can with windex and then try my best to get the dvd on my computer with dvd dycryptor. it fails a lot but i just keep retrying. ive spent like 5 days on 1 dvd before getting it to read all the way through. im good at getting discs that have no hope what so ever to recover them 100% complete. once its on and i can burn it i can recover it without any errors.. even if it takes ice ages. maybe u can try doing that with dvd dycryptor.. you probably dont have any time thought right now with everything going on..

Well, you know that if it's on my list, it's yours, and I'm sure other members will follow suite, it's not as if you've not come through for us in the past.

Hey, K-

it isn't just water- what happened is sewage came up and well---I don't even want to KNOW what is in sewage- but a lot of the discs, turned white-
So while I do have cleaning supplies, and a buffer- it didn't do a THING for these.

So basically I have been taking the ones that got wet- at all- or the envelopes did-
and turning them upsdie down and cleaning them with the kit i have, but I mean its liek 2 mntues per disc- then they have to dry.
its so time consuming- but most- are fine-

the sets I lost, I will be posting and if its something someone has upgraded, maybe they can toss it my way, or- do what we always do- and trade slwoly nad rebuild.
Luckily, most of what was ruined, was common place sets- there are only 2 that I lost, that are considered really rare and or that I bought unfortunately- one, I JUST bought- towards a holiday gift for my mom- so that really sucks.

so ill just be going through things- and some will be replaced, some won't -
but its just very time consuming- have to clean them, check them- put them away, which is why the spindles are helpful.
then, write down what i need to replace- and edit my lists-online and home computer-
and then, start replacing.
but on the bright side, all those people that wanted to trade me, and I had things on their list- now I don't.

*try to find the silver lining right?*

its exhasuting and I am very impatient- but i'm muddling through.
I hired a contractor, so they start working on my basement drilling next week- so I am doing this instead of sleeping basically- becuase once they drill its dust, PLUS moisture.

ARGH~

after this, I am saran wrapping my house for the record
