What was the deal?? Why were their eyes little black circles when Fred and Betty's looked more realistic?? Just wonderin'!! They used to scare me!!

I think they were drawn that way to provide more contrast among the four
characters.

Why do (nearly) all the characters on THE SIMPSONS have yellow skin?
When you think about it, that's pretty freaky, too!

good catch. So damn true. Also, at times, Wilma's eyes when she made a certain face, her eyes would turn into COMMAS. ,,,,,,,,,

I think that Wilma and barney came from a certain tribe (redheads/blondes with small eyes), and Fred and Betty came from a different tribe (proto-Italians)

You're lucky you even get to see the Flintstones. Even if it is at 12:00 am. I haven't seen them in ages and am a huge fan.

btw let me edit my post above. I stated their eyes turn to commas...it's actually apostrophes they turn into.
