hey buddies i got an email from ron dante the artist who did the lead vocal songs on the archie show and this is what he said in the email that i got from him i thought i share it
Hello. I'm afraid the original year is still not out on DVD yet but it will be. They finally put everyting out at some point. I remember we did a ton of music for the first year. Each show had dance of the week and a new hit song. All the best, Ron |

....were the "heart" of the musical background behind "THE ARCHIE SHOW" in its first season (1968-'69)- of course, Ron and his group recorded "a ton of vocals" [my personal favorite was "Boys And Girls"] for the show. At any given time, there had to be "fresh material" for the show, even if the cartoons themselves were being repeated for a fourth time. There was a "new" song and "Dance Of the Week" {just about} EVERY week, as far as I remember. The animation may look "substandard" today, but the music still rocks!!
Thanks for sharing your e-mail, 'studd'!!
