Default Why I feel The Cosby Show was better than Roseanne

I was getting into Roseanne but I then found myself losing interest because for one, the sister was seen too much for me. And on top of coming to the House so much, she was kind of Goofy which made her annoying. Also the show would not focus on the kids that much, it would focus more on Roseanne or Roseanne and Jackie, or Roseanne and Dan. I don't recall seeing that many eps with Darlene and Becky at school or at the Mall. When they were seen it was always at that house. Then Roseanne' mother was a NUTBALL and I could not stomach her at all. On the otherhand, the Cosby Show focus on the Family as a WHOLE, not in seperate scenes or not at all. You also seen the Huxtable kids at school when they became older. Plus the show just didn't focus on Clair and her sister in the kitchen or just her Cliff for a long period of time. So that's my reason for not being able to get into the show. It seemed like since the title of the show was called-"Roseanne" the most of the eps was all about her. Even though Cosby was in the title, a large part of the eps just didn't focus on him, it was centered on him and his family. So that's my reason why this show doesn't match up to the Cosby Show

Now you know comparing Roseanne with the Cosby Show will make the Roseanne fans get all up in arms and shouting through the rooftops that The Huxtables were un-realistic(which would sound stupid, how many kids, black or white, would get away with the crap the Conner kids did? And besides, EVERY T.V family had an un-realistic moment or two..it's T.V!) BTW: They rarely shown Clair 's sister Sarah but in only two episodes throughout the entire series which pissed me off considering that even as a young child I had a little crush on her.

I have read some harsh stuff about The Cosby Show on other websites mostly by Roseanne fans, it had got so bad that a few racial rants where thrown in. I get your point but remember, people got genuine HATE for the Huxtables because some are clearly jealous of a well to do family.

Now that i'm finished ranting, I did enjoy Roseanne until they added so many characters like sissy David and dumb Mark, and so many other countless idiot characters same with Cosby, it was enjoyable until Raven-Symone and Erika Alexander joined the show and they got rid of Peter, Rudy's rainbow tribe friends, and Cockroach.

I also found out from my cousin that There was never any eps featuring Darlene, Becky, or DJ at school once they got older. Just always in that dirty House-lol

They were never featured in school, but Roseanne and Dan had to go to their school on a few episodes like Becky flipping the bird in the school picture, and Darlene barking in class(I loved that episode.)

I don't know, i'm pretty sure there are households like The Conners in real life, but I never knew anybody who lived like that, I grew up in Laguna Beach.

Exactly, the eps were all about her because the title said ROSEANNE-lol

Roseanne was a good show up until she went on a "I hate men campaign." Then the show went downhill fast.

Uhhhhh .. what?

It seems like you are comparing seaon 8-9 of "Roseanne" with the entire run of "The Cosby Show." I hate "Roseanne" past season 6, honestly -- maybe 7. I didn't care to see the Conner kids at school -- I thought they did a fine job with Roseanne having to make a few trips to the school .. Darlene going to prom or reading her poem .. DJ with the spelling bee (foreclosure) .. even though it didn't show it -- Becky passing gas while trying to give a speech in front of the Student Council. I do agree with some of your argument. My favorite episodes are when all of the family is together -- "Boo!" .. "Toto, We're Not In Kansas Anymore" .. "Saturday" .. "Scenes from a BBQ" ..

I thought Roseanne and Jackie's relationship was extremely close -- but growing up in an abusive house with non-supportive and non-loving parents, you tend to lean on your sibling. Jackie was my favorite character -- I quickly lost the love after season 6.

I think comparing "Roseanne" with "The Cosby Show" is ridiculous. The Cosby's were a well-off family living in NY. The Conner's were a low income midWest family trying to make ends meet. Trying to compare the two is impossible -- they are both good for different reasons.

I wasn't comparing the Family's Financial status, I was comparing how the Cosby Show was a Family show that featured the Kids more than Roseanne
