Post Outfits

Is it just me or does anyone else think
that the outfits that the female pop stars wear are a bit revolting or revealing? Let me know what everyone
thinks!

I would be lying if I said the revealing outfits don't CATCH my interest. But yes it's almost scary what they are putting forth as exceptible. To sum up my feeling about it, I don't know if I made this joke up or heard it somewhere. Honest!
Never mind the joke. Bootsy helped me to see the light.

In everyone's opinion, which female pop
star's outfits are the most revealing or
revolting?

I think Britney Spears outfits are the
"most" revealing. She must love to show
off her goodies and other things.

You must not have ever seen L'il Kim! lol...no...you're entitled to your opinion, of course...but I think L'il Kim's outfits are more revealing. Of course, I guess she's not a pop star...

Ah, there's the rub...who gets to decide what is acceptable or not? I suppose you could argue society does (and I would probably agree), but that doesn't automatically make it "wrong" to dress that way, it simply deviates from the norm.

As for putting forth a bad example for our young girls....that's what parents are for. Have parents become so unattentive that they can't notice what their children are wearing? I can understand maybe not knowing what music they listen to or what TV shows they see, but it's a little bit harder to miss what someone is wearing. Of course I know some people wear regular clothes and then change when they get to school or whatever...

....but still....I don't really think that it is all that wrong. I still have a major problem with why women can't be sexually liberated without jokes being made about them being sluts...these women choose to dress this way, whatever their motives may be, they were not forced to do it.

L'il Kim is a rapper....but she did appear with Pink, Mya, and Christina Agulera in the Lady Marmalade video, which I'm assuming you've probably seen since the girls in there are dressed revealingly, plus it got alot of air time. L'il Kim is the girl who is like lounged out on a couch or something for part of the video while she does this little rappish thing...

...anyhoo, L'il Kim dresses like that all the time when she is in public, whereas with those other girls you do occasionally see them in "normal" clothes.

Bootsy, People joke about body builders, kids with baggy, baggy pants or blue hair or any number of "out of the norm" attire. Jokes all in bad taste, perhaps. But "sexually liberated" women don't have the market cornered for being the butt of bad jokes. We all put ourselves out there. Sometimes we dish it out and some times we take it.

Yes, this is true. And just so you know, I wasn't trying to single you out when I said that. Everyone says jokes like that sometimes. It's just that making jokes about kids with blue hair or baggy pants doesn't usually cast them into a dirty light, they way calling someone a slut does. It's like as...I don't know if I can explain...calling someone a slut just because they wear a tight shirt is like saying they have bad morals because they look like that. People don't usually question the moral fortitude of kids in baggy pants. Or something. Guess my debate skills are off tonight, I don't think I am making myself very clear. I know what I mean but I can't think of the words to use. (but then I did only get 2 hours of sleep last night.)

I know precisely what you mean. I sincerley apologize for the-joke?- to begin with. The attitude it portrays is not of my nature. If you hadn't rewritten it, darn you, I'd go back and edit it out. Your debate skills are coming through just fine.

Don't worry kitt...I wasn't really offended by the joke. I don't get offended that easily, at least it takes alot to get me mad at people....I don't hold it against you ar anything, so don't worry about that at all. Unfortunately, even I tell jokes like that sometimes, although I try not too....we all do.....stupid human nature! lol

And I'll go erase it out of the quote in my post, so if you really want to edit your post you can.
