The Post Office has some awful hours
Dang, I was planning on going before work today, I start at 2:30 but they close at 2. They are closed Sundays, they don't open till 9 on the weekdays and they close at 6. Those hours stink. I drive by a CPU (It is a little post office where they take the mail there but bring it to the bigger post office) every day, but I can't go before school because they are closed and I usualy work after school. When I am not working I go after school, but I don't want to leave the packages in my car and have them get overheated so I bring them in my locker-lol Last monday I had 6 or 7 packages between my books. I wish they were open later and earlier or on Sundays. Weekends is the best time for me, but they are barily open on Saturday. Who wishes they had better hours?

The post office here recently changed their times and they now close at 8:00 PM on weekdays and 5:00 PM on Saturday. They used to close at 5 on weekdays and 2 on weekends. By the way why is it that all postal workers look so depressed and suicidal. They must really hate their jobs-- and I'm sure the longer hours aren't helping any. And its always the same 2 or 3 workers I run into. They probably groan everytime I walk in, thinking "oh great, its the guy who comes with 5 or 6 packages at a time."

How do those do it yourself machines work exactly? I've always seen them, but never bothered to try them, out of fear that I'd end up messing something up, and the package would never arrive at its destination.
But the main lines at the post office can be really long at times, so it would be nice to be able to use those. Are they reliable? |

Also, the only chance my packages getting overheated in my car is if I set it on fire - lol. Even then the rain and cold would probably put it out before any damage was done. Cheers, J |

, Yeah, I visited Florida recently on vacation, it rained quite a lot, but even then the heat was fantastic. On the plus side, we don't get extreme weather over here, were not really in danger of tornadows, earthquakes, etc... J |

I do 95% of my mail via the after hours computerized post office machines, they are the most convenient and greatest thing invented in a long, long time.
Its simple, just place your package on the weight scale and it weighs the package for you, type in your zip code destination, prices come up as to what kind of shipping you want, then you choose it and pay with either a credit or debit card. Very simple. I havent figured out how to use it with delivery confirmation and not sure how to send international mail that way, other than that no complaints from me!! Aj |
