Take a red, white & yellow cable (I think they're called RCA cables - you can get them at Radio Shack, Walmart, etc But you probably already have one, since most electronics come with one.) & hook that up to the OUTPUT of your VHS and INPUT on the DVD recorder. Also, if your DVD recorder has multiple inputs, make sure the channel it's recording from is the input channel the cable is hooked up to.

or you can use the piggy back method. it's just like hooking up two vcrs. your problem is you have the cables mixed up. the one that is hook to the tv is the master (the recording one) have the dvd recorder connect to the tv and you'll be fine

switch 1 and 3 around. you want the dvd recorder connect to the tv don't need the av cables. just connect the dvd recorder to the tv and your cable box to your vcr

another easy way around this is to get one of the COMBINATION vcr/dvd recorders so its a 1 Touch Record
its idiot proof even lamont can do it! |
