Default Statement by Larry in "Opportunity Knocks" that was inconsistent to Jack Tripper

Larry tells Mrs. Roper that-"Jack is thinking of buying a Motorcycle" HUH??????-LOL Now we as Three's Company Fans know that Jack Tripper and a Motorcycle does not go together-lol

There's a spelling error anyway. But I mean, maybe it's why he was "thinking about it," and not doing it. It probably happened like this:

Jack: Girls, I just told Larry I'm thinking of getting a motorcycle!

Janet: That's great!

Chrissy: YEA!

(pause)

Janet: Wait a minute Jack, you've never been the type to get a motorcycle.

Chrissy: YEA!

Janet: Yea, you're not "Fonzie"!

Chrissy: YEA!

(Janet looks at her funny because that's all she's saying)

Jack: Yea.....yea girls, I guess you're right. What was I thinking???

Janet: That's right!

Chrissy: YEA!

(both look ar her funny)

Jack would probably get one if he came across a hot girl who had a thing for guys with motorcycles.

I doubt it, that wasn't Jack's personality.

I agree, Larry would've, but not Jack.

Maybe Larry was just makin' stuff up for chit-chat, who knows? And it's not impossible that on a nice night drinking at the Regal Beagle Jack could have spouted off to Larry about having some dreams of being some "biker dude" or whatnot.

It was almost like Larry was a different person on the Ropers

Why? Larry was always the sort of person who didn't really care that much whether what he was saying was accurate or not. In fact, telling half-truths and outright lies was integral to Larry Dallas' character.

I mean that his character on the ropers was different from how he acted on three's company

I know what you meant. I was asking why you thought that way, since from my POV he acted the same way on Three's Company and The Ropers.

On the Ropers he was more Serious in the presence of the Ropers than he was in their presence on Three's Company
