Perhaps, but Gabe Kaplan a lot of time off that year...I guess he grew his beard out of boredom.

I always thought it was funny that Gabe's name appeared in the opening credits for all the season four episodes, yet he appeared in less episodes than "special guest star" John Travolta, who was billed in only the episodes he appeared in.

This is from the second to last episode. When he was a regular on the show he didn't have one.
