If companies released both uncut and syndicated versions of their shows on the same day, but charged $10 less for syndication sets, do you think those would sell well? I mean, do you think there are a lot of casual fans that would prefer to save ten bucks and purchase the syndie prints?
For the record, I would spend $100 more for the uncut episodes, if it's a show I like. I can't imagine actually purchasing a DVD, knowing it's the syndicated episodes of ANY show, where I could save up a little cash and buy it uncut. Okay, your thoughts. |

I think there are fans out there who would go for the cheaper syndicated versions, figuring that it would be no big deal if they lost a minute or two from each episode if they'd be getting the set cheaper.
For me, with the difference being only $10, I'd of course always go for an uncut set. The thing is, when there's a case where there's a syndicated version and an uncut version, the companies had better make sure that if it says uncut, it really is uncut. |

Are tv dvds popular enough to warrant variations of a set? The cost of producing two seperate sets / packaging etc would surely be uneconomical.
