Yep, that's the final episode. The producers of the show thought they were getting another season, so they wanted a cliff-hanger season finale. After the episode aired, NBC cancelled the show.
However, in 1996, ABC showed a movie "Project ALF" in which it's ALF with the Alien Task Force. Luckily, their experiments on him were'nt fatal, just funny (to us). It's a followup to the finale, but without the Tanners. It mentions that they're been relocated by the witness protection program. I only wonder what they would have done in season five. Because now we wouldn't have the threat of the Alien Task Force, since I'm assuming the rest of the show wouldn't take place with them. Maybe ALF would have gone public, and would still reside with the Tanners, but he wouldn't be a secret anymore. |

Had there actually been a fifth season, I'm sure it would have been an interesting one full of surprises!

Anyone who would like information from the "horse's mouth" so to speak can go to ALFTV.NET and read Paul Fusco's (creator of ALF) answer regarding the last episode of the original ALF TV series.

I think they should try to bring ALF back to TV.
On the movie, at the end.. wasn't he released? Who's to say he didn't run into another family who has decided to let ALF stay with them? There could also be camos from the original Tanners, who ALF got back into contact with over the phone. I'm sure after 20 years, they would no longer need to be in the Witness Protection Program, and would be living normal lives now. With all of the shows dealing with Aliens, Psychics, and those who see Ghosts, I think a comedy show like ALF would actually work again... especially since a lot of 80's stars are coming back to TV. I think if Paul wanted to put this on the table, it would last several years. It would also put ALF back in the public eye, and make Paul some more money before he decides to retire from the whole ALF thing. |

yep, that was it. The episode is called "consider me Gone" and Ends with ALF asking the ATF, "anybody want a brewski? How bout those Giants?" "Just my luck, not a sports fan among them?" That was it as NBC cancelled the show and never gave them the oppurtunity for a finale. The same was done to Beverly Hillbillies by CBS after nine, count em nine, seasons. Years later ABC aired Project; ALF a decent tv movie that wrapped up the loose ends.
ALF was last seen on TV Land hosting his own talk show with Ed McMahon and on DVD releases of his own show. He has also made cameos on the X-Files, the Simpsons and movies such as "Independece Day" No, I do not beleive ALF is just a muppet. |

My favorite ep had Alf selling products, and having Willie act as host for theselling party. I can't recall if it was makeup or other items or what. Think: Tupperware party. I was selling things, too, at that time, but didn't make as much money as Alf.
