Hi,
Does anyone have the pilot movie for TaleSpin? As far as I know it only aired once in 1990. It was a 2 hour movie that aired in syndication the weekend before the series debuted. The DVD version is the syndicated 4-part version which is missing entire scenes (several minutes are missing from each part.) I have loads of cartoons, game shows, and sitcoms to trade. Email me and we'll discuss furthur details. Greg |

I don't see how the syndicated re-broadcast is able to miss any scenes. The commercial break times are essentially the same in each version. Do you have any proof of this, or are you just going off memory? It's a common misconception that sydicated versions are "missing" footage, when they actually are unchanged to the original or alternate "movie" version.
Especially 80s/90s cartoons. |

Well the edits were done to make room for more opening and closing credits and for recaps on each episode. There is a TaleSpin site out there that details each of the edits, and has screencaps from all the missing scenes.
Edit list: http://www.talespinhq.com/General/movie.htm Screencaps: http://www.talespinhq.com/Multimedia/sg00Plunder.htm An entire song was even edited out. Those scenes are not on the DVD. Greg |
