Default Living Inside TV Land : Sherman Hemsley Comments

Would have Preferred to see MIKE EVANS there instead of DAMON EVANS

Could have done without Sally Struthers

I was glad to see The guy who Played Ralph there

I was surprised to hear how Shy Sherman was in Real life by the woman who played thelma on Amen. She said he never ate lunch with them in 5 years they did the show-lol

Don't know why Marla Gibbs was playing the Florence Johnston character on this Special instead of just acting like her normal self.

Sally was hawking her "reality show" I guess. Is she really having one? It will probably be on TV Land.

Yeah, what was up with Marla acting like Florence? She must have the Fred Berry syndrome. You become the character.

Marla did the Florence character on the Surreal life as well. I guess she is so well known as that character and doesn't mind doing the character that brought her fame. Unlike some people (Gary Coleman).

I was able to see that Sherman had no interest in playing George Jefferson when Marla was acting like Florence-lol

It was surprising to see how laid back he was. I was expecting him to be mouthy like george Jefferson.

That is something I have always been fascinated with. Whenever I see him on The Jeffersons going off, mouthing off, yelling, screaming, physically acting goofy, etc. I can't help but think how much he is the opposite of that character. Ever since the first time I have known how shy and reserved he is in real life, it still amazes me. He is very very reserved.

Sherman lives in Sherman Oaks...interesting. I got to go find him and his house!

If Sally Struthers was filming a reality series, what happened to it? I have never heard of it or seen it? Anyone know?

I didn't catch this the first time around, but watching it last night for the second time, I noticed that Sally Struthers last name was spelled WRONG each time they showed her name on screen. Did you all notice that? it said STHRUTHERS instead of STRUTHERS...

I didn't know that Sherman was good friends with Stanley Livingston from My Three Sons...seeing him the last time caught my eye, but seeing it again last night made me wonder, how is it they are friends? I wonder if it's from being at those autograph sessions for the fans.

I read probably 30 years ago that Sherman Hemsley was a soft-spoken man in real life. Sherman was nothing like George. The fact that his character was such a loudmouth speaks to his superb acting talent.

But why did he have to be shy around people he already knew on the Living inside TV LAND? I think he was acting kind of weird and there is no reason to be shy around people you already Know. I'm shy but it;s only around Pretty Woman not People I already know-lol

Shyness can know no boundaries. I was very shy, even around my relatives. Not no more. My oldest daughter is still the same way at times. Nothing weird abt that. I have known people who were so damn shy it's sickening. I know this young girl who works at my sister's place of business and her shyness is so irritating...the only time she talks is when people come in for business or the phone rings. Other than that, NOTHING.
