2 little known facts about Phillip McKeon.

1 - Phillip was almost selected to play the role of Johnny the blue eyed-bad boy in the 80's movie the Karate Kid. Phillip desperately wanted the role and studied karate and increased his work outs for months to become an excellent fighter. In an interview, Phillip said that during the audition with Ralph Macchio he was afraid he would accidently kill him. Producers ultimately chose William Zabka saying that the height difference (McKeon was almsot 6' 7", Machio was about 5' 5") made the fight scenes awkward. They also thought an unknown like Zabka was more believable.

2. Phillip travelled as the opening act for Scott Baio during his brief efforts at a music career. Phillip sang and played the guitar warming up the audience before Baio came on.

COOL! TOO BAD PHILIP DIDN'T GET THE ROLE. IT WOULD HAVE MADE THAT MOVIE ALL THE MORE SWEETER!
