Does anyone know the name of the old fireman that Beaver used to talk to when he walked by the station?

It was Gus, the fireman, played by longtime character actor Burt Mustin.

Also -- "Pete" (Will Wright), another old geezer auxiliary fireman. Pete is the one who rescued "Puddin'" from the Cleaver bathroom at 485 Mapleton Drive.

That was during one of Ward and June's "I Couldn't Care Less If Our Two Very Young Sons Stay By Themselves At Home Sans A Baby-Sitter, Even Though We (Ward & June) Insist That The Beav Have A Baby-Sitter Even When He's Twelve Years Old Later In The Series" modes.*

* = Let alone letting The Beav and The Wally stay home alone while serving as baby-sitters themselves for an even younger toddler named Puddin'!
