Default Bonnie Franklin- Hot or Not?

All of these guys seem to think Bonnie Franklin was as hot as a Playboy Bunny (look on jumptheshark.com). I mean I can see where guys were attracted to her, but I don't think she was overly stunning or anything. I mean I think she was an average looking girl-next-door type (with a temper)...then they changed her look during Season 5 or something I think. I still don't think she was THAT hot.

She's attractive in a way, but I wouldn't say hot

She certainly never wore any "hot" clothing.

braless or not, there are some of us who love fair-skinned redheads-yeah, she was hot-especially that adorable chipmunk-like grin of hers!

Ignoring how annoying her character could be, she was sort of cute/sort of attractive in a way.

But "Walking Tall" is correct. Valerie/Barbara was HOT... Ms. Romano was not.

It always amazed me that the show would portray Julie as the hot older sister while Valerie was playing the part of a plain Jane younger sister that guys weren't as interested in. I remember an episode when Barbara liked Julie's boyfriend, and tried to make a move on him (by giving him a terrarium for his birthday)... but the guy was only interested in Julie... made no sense.... yeah, he and Julie had more in common, with their interest in music, but it's not realistic to think that he wouldn't be flattered by Barbara's interest in him.

I always thought Bonnie Franklin was hot. I had a major crush on her. She looked better when they changed her look in season 4 when Bonnie got the Dorothy Hamil haircut. I loved that hairstyle on her.

Please take note that Ann Romano was the first TV mom with flaws and a temper to boot. I loved those episodes when Ann would go on the warpath especially with Julie, Ed (her ex-husband) and her battles with Francine (her business partner).

She looked great in her kissing scenes with various men that Ann dated on the show.

Not that there's anything wrong with that....

(Sorry. Just finished watching the classic Seinfeld episode before signing in just now and I couldn't resist!)

But seriously, who is the hottest of the GOLDEN GIRLS?

You know I watched these shows as a kid and Bonnie Franklin never did it for me. Victoria Principal on Dallas, Jane Seymour on Battlestar Galactica, Jan Smithers on WKRP- I was 11 years old and I wanted that.

That isn't gay, that's good taste.

As a side note, Bonnie Franklin played one of "Gidget's" high school friends in two episodes of the "Gidget" TV show. She was not a redhead in those days. But she did have some minor speaking parts.

She played "Jean" in one episode, and "Janie" in another

IMDB.com listed the two episodes that she was in, and we have the DVD set... don't know if I'll have time this week, but I'll try to post a screen shot of her from Gidget as soon as I can.

I haven't seen those Gidget episodes since the 80's. Did Bonnie Franklin wear a dark wig, or was her her colored that way?
