Thumbs up MTV looks like it's shaping up a bit...

Well, I was looking through the TV Times just a few minutes ago, and you know what I noticed? I noticed that there is a considerable amount of actual music video playing on MTV this week. More than even VH1.
1:30 am all the way strait to 2:30 PM! Then they play a special, then TRL, then another special of some sort. THEN, at 6 pm, they play another batch of music videos til 9pm, sometimes til the Ten Spot.
That's not all...this is what got me really excited...I looked at Friday's listings and there were the words. 8pm to 4am: FRIDAY NIGHT VIDEOS. Isn't that great?! Friday Night Videos is back!
And all weekend they are playing videos as well.
This has got me thinking...do you think MTV will stay this way. Or is this just a sort of "period of mourning" due to the attacks, like they have done this past week?
I don't know, cause MTV must of sent in the listings before last Tuesday, so there must be some evidence to the schedule.
Oh, gosh, I wanted my MTV, and I finally may be getting it. Woo hoo!

I was watching MTV Saturday and Carson Daly said, "let's get back to our special programming." You know what that special programming was? Music videos! How that is considered "Special" programming, I have no clue. So, unfortunately, I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet. There's always MTV2 though.

I noticed that too. I hope they keep it this way with the music videos. I could care less about the shows that they do show like Real World and Road Rules.

Lumpy: Did you go out for anything, Dud?

Dudley: Well, I went out for football, but I got my finger stepped on, so my mother made me quit.

Eddie: Well listen-- I went out for basketball and I got my hair pulled, and my mother made ME quit.

Dudley: It's not that I was afraid of getting hurt or anything; it's just that-- well, it's kind o' hard to play the flute with a busted finger.

VH-1 showed videos all weekend as a tribute. It sounds like MTV may try to get some videos back in. Didn't they run a lot of videos as part of their 20th anniversary? They might have got a lot of positive feedback from that so they increased the amount of video airtime.

Well of course video airtime would get a lot of positive feedback. Who wouldn't be happy at the prospect of MTV playing music videos again?

You guys get MTV2 aswell? I thought that was only available in Britain. What does MTV2 play in America? Over here it's all rock, indie and alternative stuff.
I guess you guys won't have heard of Kerrang TV! That's the best music channel by far!!

Basically the same stuff. Like The Doves, Pete Yorn, Tricky, Travis, etc... At least, those were the videos I remember seeing on there last time I got the chance to check it out.
I have to get my parents to sign us up for it, since it's a premium channel...
