Hey guys, I am a newbie on this board and I just joined and am happy to find that while other sitcom boards are not posted to that much, that this 3's Company board is very active. Three's Company was one of my favorite all time sitcoms along with Seinfeld and Honeymooners.
Anyway, I notice that Jeffery Tambor is huge now, probably more than he ever was (i.e. the new Twenty Good Years, Arrested Development, etc). I cannot help mentioning that he was probably my favorite non-main cast member of all the Three's Company characters. Not counting Jack, Janet, Chrissy, Ropers, RF, Cindy, Larry, and Terry, he was the best out of all the rest in my opinion. I see him now and still typecast him as a Three's Company character. I loved him as Jeffrey Brookes, the landlord on the Ropers how he always complained about them and schemed to throw them out. I also loved him as Dr. Phillip Greene, the dentist who wanted revenge on Jack, and also Dr. Tom Miller, the doctor who Terry was dating (I THINK they were dating) and Jack thought he was a mental patient. You guys may have other unsung heroes for Three's Company, but this is my vote. Bruce |

Welcome to SO
![]() I have to agree with you. Jeffrey Tambor has always been my favorite TC guest star, The only other one that comes close is Terry Kiser. I'm looking forward to seeing some of The Roper episodes in a few weeks on TV Land. A bunch of them I have never seen and the ones I did I probably forgot about. |

I agree, I posted something like this before. Jeffrey Tambor was absolutely hilarious! My favorite was when Jack & Janet thought he was a mental patient. I could watch that episode 1,000 times and still laugh my butt off!!!

I like Jeffrey Tambor too. I loved him as the doctor, thought to be a mental patient and then as Jeffrey P. Brookes. I wouldn't say he's overrated at all. The only character of his that I didn't care for was the dentist who worked on Jack's teeth.

I thought the dentist was funny, but John Ritter was also funny how he hated going to the dentist, the coward. LOL

Question: Tambor was on an impressive 3 times, 4 if you count the Ropers! I know a lot of guest stars were on twice, but was there anyone else that was on more than 2 times? (as a different character each time?)

Sondra Curie played the girl who tried to get Roper to buy some property in "Alone Together", Arlene in "Jack Takes Off" and Jack's date, Shelly in "Janet's Secret". Anne Scheden played Jack's girlfriend Linda in the beginning of the series, played his girlfriend, Lisa in "Honest Jack Tripper" and also played the loan manager in "Jack Gets His". Mickey Deems also played a variety of different character though they were mostly small roles. He played one of Janet's flower shop customers in "Jack In The Flower Shop", a guy at the convention in "A Hundred Dollars A What", the singing telegram deliverer in "Father Of The Bride", the maitre d in "Mate For Each Other", and another flower shop customer who pinches Janet in "Extra, Extra". There might be others but these are the ones I can remember now. |

Jeffrey Tambor is a good actor. He seems to have played the 'middle class guy with angst' roles. I remember him on an episode of Taxi where he is extremely nervous around women, but Nardo agrees to date him and they hit it off really well (to say the least!)
I think it was Tambor. Does anyone remember this episode? Correct me if I'm wrong. But yeah, he's a good actor in my opinion. |

Bill Cort appeared 3 times. He played:
1. The crooking building inspector in Going to Pot who took a bribe 2. The doctor in Jack's Tattoo 3. He also appeared once in the Ropers, but I forgot which role. |
