I have a question concerning "All About Eva." When Gilligan enters the
scene with Eva Grubb to introduce her to the group, everyone is smiling and happy about having a boat, but Gilligan comes in looking angry, saying something and pointing to the Professor. Later on, at the party, he seems upset, as well, and while everyone is focusing on "Ginger" (really Eva) acting clumsily during the last dance sequence, Gilligan is then focusing on something else at the other end of the table, off camera. Do you have any thoughts about what is going on with Gilligan? |

Gilligan seems to be pointing at the Professor because he was reaching to tap the Skipper on the shoulder---but the Skipper noticed him before Gilligan could touch him. He did look a little unhappy---maybe it was because he had to carry the suitcase...or maybe he'd had words with Tina Louise while they waited together for their cue.
At the party, I think Gilligan was just a bit shocked that Ginger (really Eva) started dancing with Mrs. Howell prompting the Skipper's great line: "well, I've been rejected before, but never for another girl."

I heard there was supposed to be a few episodes after this one where Ginger and Mrs. Howell moved in together, started wearing flannel shirts, and formed a softball team. heh heh heh

I just watched the episode and it looked to me as though Alan Hale may have jumped his cue and was supposed to have waited until Gilligan tapped him on the shoulder. Bob may have been waiting for the director to call cut, but they kept rolling.
Just an observation; but another thing I noticed about that episode is that Bob looked physically tired. I looked at his face in close ups and in two shots and he just seemed to be someone who had been working too many long hours lately. |
