Post Favorite scary movie

What is everyone's all time favorite
scary movie?

Mine is definitely "Scream", all three
of them!

"Poltergeist" is my all-time favorite!

"Duel" was scary too! It's the one about Dennis Weaver being chased down the highway by a sadistic truck driver.Very creepy!I think this was Steven Spielberg's first film.

I've got to agree about "Duel" The first time I saw this, I was at home by myself and this come on at like 2 in the morning. I was bored and it looked interesting. Talk about messing with your head. A piece of advice, DON'T WATCH THIS MOVIE ALONE AT NIGHT! It's not so much it being that scarry, it's what your mind does to you afterwards. lol

I think the term 'scary movie' is a paradox because movies are never scary. I just find them funny most of the time - the way they think that throwing as much fake blood and guts at the screen as possible is gonna freak people out! I must admit though, if I am watching a horror movie the plot doesn't necessarily have to be decent (most of them don't even have plots anyway) as long as there is loads of gruesome bits - I'm a bit of a gore-fiend when it comes to horror movies.
But since you asked which movie was the scariest I'd have to say.....'Halloween' - the first one, not any of the sequels. 'Halloween' was the only horror film that ever scared me cos it was the first horror film I ever watched (when I was about 12 years old). I've seen it about 6 times since then and it's not scary at all when I think about it. It was only scary when I was 12 cos I didn't know what to expect.
BTW - if it's blood 'n' guts you're after check out 'Halloween 6 - Curse of Michael Myers' - you get to see this dudes head exploding in slow motion!!
And, before I go, a warning to all movie fans! There is a terrible, awful, excrutiatingly bad movie out there called 'The House Beside the Cemetery'. It's really old (made in the 1970's I think) but it's just been re-released on DVD. It's the worst movie I have EVER seen - avoid it at all costs!!!!
Has anyone ever seen 'The Boneyard'? I saw it on satalite TV a few months ago. I really wish I'd taped it now cos it was so funny. That ninja mutant poodle had me crying with laughter! You guys in the States are lucky cos you can get it on DVD. I hope it gets a DVD release over here soon. Anyone seen it?

I have seen "Poltergeist", but the rest
of the movies that you all are talking
about, I've never even heard of, except
for "Halloween". I also like "Jaws".

I love "Scream" (all three), "Halloween," "It," and "Poltergeist." I am a huge fan of scary movies. I just watched "Duel" the other day for about the tenth time. It's really good for those who haven't seen it!

Lumpy: Did you go out for anything, Dud?

Dudley: Well, I went out for football, but I got my finger stepped on, so my mother made me quit.

Eddie: Well listen-- I went out for basketball and I got my hair pulled, and my mother made ME quit.

Dudley: It's not that I was afraid of getting hurt or anything; it's just that-- well, it's kind o' hard to play the flute with a busted finger.

The Glass House...that movie was AWESOME...it wasn't all that scary...but...some parts were. O...o...o...and then there was The Sixth Sense. That movie was freaky. You should have seen my friend and I the first time he saw a dead person (person in the robe walking by the bathroom)...and we just saw her walk past the bathroom we were screaming at the top of our lungs. Other parts we were like holding each other's hands (don't get the wrong idea here peoplez) and I couldn't watch that gurl throwing up the first time I saw it...the second time I watched it. Okies...NEwayz...I will shut up now!! HAHA!! If you haven't seen it...it is AWESOME!!! We watched it at like 12 in pitch black room on a HUGE tv...and lemme tell ya...it kicked some serious @$$!!
