Default What card games do you enjoy playing?

I love to play Gin Rummy. My father taught me how to play. I never could beat him.
I also love Solitaire. However, when at a casino, I don't play card games, I don't feel comfortable enough.
I don't know how to play poker, it looks complicated, though I wish I could learn.

It changed as I grew older.

As a youngster we played fish, knuckles, war, old maid and crazy eights. As a teenager a great Italian card game was Brisk. We played teams for a quarter a person. When I got married. Michigan and 500 rummy was played a lot. With the guys it was poker, hearts and blackjack.

Now it's strip poker with all the young women I can find. Needless to say I don't play cards much.

The way Brooklyn is structured (10 miles long with 2.7 million people," we had to build straight up not across. There was no internet access so you you had to interact. On rainy days and most lived in partment complexes, we would meet on some floor and play the rainy day games, hide and Seek, marbles, checkers, flip cards and of course play card games till our mothers would call us to eat. Slap jack was another good game as was crazy eights. Kids of today don't realize how much fun we had being with each other, enjoying each other and just talking.

Now back to strip poker. The key words to remember are flimsy and sheer.

I don't play any that much anymore, but I used to like playing Spades, or 500 Rummy with my friends while in the army. Recently, someone showed my how to play Texas holdem poker, but I haven't played it with anyone.

For a while last year, I was playing free-cell and solitaire on the computer, and was really into both for a while, but then burned out on it.

When I was in my late teens/early twenties, some of my buddies and I would play seven-card stud and draw poker on Friday nights. I liked the games, as well as the relaxation, social or recreational aspect of getting together with your friends, talking, having snacks etc.

There's another card game called "31", or Blitz--great game.

As a little kid, of course, there was the standard crazy eights, war. At New Years Eve/Christmas/other holiday get-togethers at my aunt's apartment in the Bronx when I was young, the adults would let me and my cousins play Michigan Rummy. I don't remember the game that much, but I remember being excited about winning.

Someone mentioned the Italian card game Brisk; is that the same as "Briscola"?
Another great Italian card game is "scoba" or "sweep". Only two can play it and it moves fast and you have to think quick. Very easy to learn. Anyone ever hear of it?

My parents used to play Canasta: I could never understand the game. And some of our neighbors from the midwest would play Eucre till all hours. They seemed to be having a good time.

I never liked Hearts: Too many cards to hold in your hand!

Gin, Spades, Crazy Eights, and Texas Hold Em with my boyfriend, who is 329585636523x better than me.

Playing Spades electronically usually pisses me off, but I still do it.

Texas Hold 'em (extremely addicting). Other poker games like 5 card draw and Omaha, though I haven't played a lot of Omaha. Spades and Gin are also pretty fun.

Before I was in my musical, I only played Go Fish, Canasta, and War. After the musical, I now know how to play BS, Spit, and I was taught the basis of Rummy, but didn't understand. Spit's my favorite because it moves so fast. I want to learn Poker SO BAD.
