Hello,
Does anyone remember the name of this horror film from the late 70's or might be early 80's? Here is a brief summary of the storyline. The movie begins in a park, where a woman and her three children befriend a pregnant woman in a park. The pregnant woman is allowed to live with this family, but after she gives birth to her child she leaves the house and the child behind. This unsuspecting family raises this child (evil), but soon, one by one, their own children are being murdered by this child. Anyway, the movie ends with the same woman being pregnant again and she is shown walking off with another family. If anyone can help me with the name of this movie, I would apprecaite it. thanks |

Not sure, but it sounds like a ripoff of "The Omen". You might want to look for a horror movie fansite and pose that question there. One of those geeks...I mean horror movie fans should know.

Yes - I have a HUGE extensive horror film collection and this film is one that I own. It is called "The Godsend" and was made in 1980. The tagline of the film was "For God's Sake, Take It Back!" This film actually has nothing at all to do with "The Omen" - it is based on the habits of the cuckoo bird- a Cuckoo will lay it's eggs in the nest of a bird of another species and the baby cuckoo will mimic the call of the other babies so the mother doesn't suspect and the first chance it gets, it pushes the other birds out of the nest and kills them.
Oh, and T-Greg, I am far from a "geek" so I think you should be a little more careful in choosing your words when lumping everyone who likes a certain genre of entertainment into one category. It's the same thing as someone who doesn't know any better lumping all Southerners into the same "White Trash/Redneck" category.... Quote:

well although it was intended as a jab at a friend, the way it was written came off as a blanket statement about all people who would be on that kind of a site, not just your friend...so as long as you jab at the intended target in the future, no offense taken.

Savage - glad to know you're a fellow "horror geek" lol
Actually the movie is, without a doubt, "The Godsend" - I have that film as well as "The Brood" and "The Brood" (a David Cronenberg film) is completely different in plot than "The Godsend"and starred Samantha Eggar. "The Godsend" is British, has no major stars but it does feature Angela Pleasence (daughter of Donald Pleasence) as the mysterious pregnant stranger who leaves her evil offspring behind. Quote:

Good Call Omen-
The brood, yeah now thinking of it, - similar, but they didn't leave the offspring behind, the doctor tookt he offspring. Still a good movie, need to pull that and watch it. I remember, when GODSEND with Deniro came out and I was thinking they remade it- but differnet movie. I'll make sure to consult you my next Horrorthon I hold up for some good picks! |
