Default Movie channels. Anybody bored with them?

So many movies channels on today. HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, plus more. And there's nothing to watch. Pay Per View just shows movies over and over, even X ones. So is anyone else bored with the Movie channels lately?

Yeah, They play the same ones over & over all month long. I wouldn't mind
seeing a variety of older movies or reruns of those made-for-tv movies from
the 70's & 80's. Anything but the same ones over & over.

I'm completely fed up with movie channels, especially when I have Direct TV and paying a bundle for those channels. The only reason why i'm keeping Showtime is because of The L Word and Weeds, that's it. I'm close to canceling all the other channels, especially HBO. Only reason I had HBO was because they sometimes would show a lost Natalie Wood movie "The Last Married Couple in America" but if I see Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Must Love Dogs ONE MORE TIME, I'm going to throw myself across the train tracks!

Well if you really want to see the shows you could always wait for them to be released on dvd and rent/buy them.

I have The L Word Seasons 1,2, and 3 on DVD, but I don't have Weeds yet. Season four of The L Word is on now and I just had to see it before it came out on DVD, I don't like to be the last person to know, and people would spoiled it for me.

I'm still hoping that Showtime would show good movies instead of the same old movies like Beauty Shop.

I have DirecTV and that is mostly for the reception and clear picture (I have a 65" television). I have the Hi-Def package for sports stuff and HBO but other than that I don't have any of the extra channels.

I can't remember the last time (save for TCM) I tuned in to a cable channel to watch a movie. If a new movie comes out that I like, I buy it so I can watch it anytime that I would like and don't have to depend on the cable channels.

DirecTV has excellent reception, even on a bad weather day. And I love how you find what program is on by your favorite T.V/Movie star, so I always know when a Natalie Wood or Diane Lane movie comes on!

When I was growing up we only had the usual 10 channels. So, when I see how much we have progressed regarding cable television, I tell myself, "Why is it back then I could almost always find something to watch on one of those 10 channels, yet, here I have over 150 channels and I can't find SQUAT TO WATCH AT TIMES?

I am. When my cable had lousy reception on a few channels, I had the cable company come and fix it.

For my troubles they gave me a free 1 1/2 month subscription to HBO, Cinemax, and Starz/Encore. It was basically the same films over and over.

I could never see paying a large monthly fee added to my already exorbitant cable bill to see the same movies over and over again. I'm glad the cable company's screwup allowed me to see what I wasn't missing all along.
