Hi. I bought something that is made of cotton and spandex. The care tag says to hand wash. Does anyone know if most items with care tags that specify hand washing will be damaged if it is machine washed? I know certain fabrics need special care. Thanks in advance.

You might be okay if you wash it on a really gentle setting and then let it air dry but there's still a risk it could shrink or get pulled out of shape.
